After all, being part of the acclaimed Ferreira Café it should be a slam dunk. Sorry, it was one of the worst restaurant experiences of all time. Ordered 1/4 chicken, potatoes roasted under to dripping fat of the birds, sides of cole slaw & Caesar salad & everything was Terrible. Chicken was dry & stringy, potatoes were hard & had no taste. Salads were an after thought. I was blown away by just how bad this dining experience was. Bye the way, the place was empty & the music was so loud that I could not talk to my guest. Sorry, I don't normally post reviews but Campo is terrible.View more
I had always wanted to visit this restaurant, but had never had the chance.
I ended up going to their kiosk in the marche atwater.
I chose the chicken sandwich combo with salad & maison chips.
The salad came with such a small pot of dressing that half the salad was completely unseasoned.
The chicken was juicy, but the seasoning was strange. I didn't like it & was very disappointed, as theoretically it should be good, especially as the chicken is grilled. I left that lunch very disappointed.View more
Campo is a must if you want to try a Portuguese restaurant in Montreal! The chicken, bread, & fries are insane, & their salads are also so fresh & filling. The location on de Maisonneuve/Peel gets quite busy at lunch because it's so popular, I suggest arriving before noon to avoid the wait - I once waited 30 mins to get food to go but it's always worth it :)View more
Wow wow wow! I seriously can't get enough of their salads, they're absolutely incredible. I always go for the one with sweet potatoes & it never disappoints. The chicken is perfectly juicy & flavourful, I always want to add extra! The dressing has the perfect sweet & tangy balance, & the sweet potatoes are melt-in-your-mouth soft. We also shared a chorizo on the side & it was hands down the best thing ever.View more
My favourite chicken caesar salad in Montreal, & the service is always great.View more
I always get either the sweet potato salad or the caesar salad. Everything is so good, the chicken is amazing & the flavours in the salads are delicious! The natas are really good too.View more
Loved the porc sandwich with salad & rice 😋 great service 🤠🤩View more
Had the best poutine here. They offer many different dishes too. I liked the salad too.View more
I love the food at Campo!! My colleagues & I are addicted to the Ceasar salad with Piri Piri chicken. It is sooo good. The chicken is juicy, tangy & has the perfect kick. You can add some more with their home-made hot sauce (you can also buy it at the Boutique to bring home, which I so recommend - alongside their sous-vide chicken you can cook on your BBQ). Recently I tried their garden salad with quinoa & the vinaigrette is amazing. The menu is short & well executed. You can order Portuguese wines as well. The place is small & packed during lunch. It can be a little chaotic with the lines to pay/get your food. I don't really like the tables, it feels cramped. It is worse on their super small terrace during summer. That's really my only complain. You can have it delivered with Uber Eats & they even have a catering service that we tried (amazing!!). You need to try!View more
Excellent little gem! The chicken is wonderful, they use a special spice which makes it extremely tasty. We also had a nice quinoa bowl with a salad dressing which was heavenly. Really recommend it!View more
We tried campo today for the first time & had a good experience. The food was really good we got the full chicken, a side of poutine (upgraded) & coleslaw/green salads. All the food tasted really good but I would've preferred more sauce on the chicken. There was hot sauce on the table but no peri peri sauce- I saw later that you can purchase a small container of the sauce for $1.5 so probably would do that. The service was ok, our waitress knew we didn't speak French but continued talking to us in French anyway. I assume it's an honest mistake though & she was really nice. Overall would recommend & would come back!View more
View more
So I heard about this place called Time Out where it's the third place in the world where you have essentially upscale food court in a mall. This is the essentially what Time Out is, mixed with numerous other sorts of food offerings but designed & owned by top restaurateurs &/or chefs. We went to CAMPO which was been said to be one the better places to eat Portuguese rotisserie chicken. We figured that since this is the brainchild of the famous Ferreira Restaurant it must be good. The outcome. Yes it was good, not great, not amazing but good. I think Toronto has much but restaurants like this than Montreal but such is life. The food was prepared quickly in the amount of time it took to find a table to be exact. How could this be so fast? They continuously cook chickens to an almost fully cooked state, then briefly place it back on the spit to refresh it - I think, or maybe not & it sits in a warmer. I say the second because our food came more warm than hot & fresh with a crispy skin texture. Which is one main reason why it's not 5 stars. Moreover, the chicken had very minimal marinade (I imagine it's Piri Piri) & there was no offer to provide a small container of sauce for dipping which it really needed for the white meat especially since it was quite dry. I also do not like when (typically inexperienced cooks) slice into my meals protein to check for done-ness. Likely another attribute to dry chicken. Ironically the dark meat thigh was done fine but the drumstick was hard & overdone. Aside from this the size of the chicken seems much smaller than most other rotisserie in Montreal or even Toronto for that matter Fries are reasonably good considering they said they are not home made, just the portion was quite small as was the delicious salad & its dressing but so small it was almost like a second thought. The other thing is product knowledge. The whole time out is mostly filled with very young & inexperienced staff & it makes you wonder people what the quality will be. In our case the server self admittedly no idea of what the food is, how it's made, & had no sense of the product or pride in it for that matter. Somewhat of a turn off from a foodie perspective. We heard from many people that the chicken sandwich was amazing but we wanted to evaluate the chicken on its own, & perhaps smothered with other items & the sandwich roll its better I don't know. All in all reasonably good food but for the price I would not go out of my way again to eat there as they are other better places to eat. But if I were there in the building let's say, & didn't want to try all the other great food options, I may try their sandwich as a last ditch to get a hot properly cooked chicken product. All in all I expected much much more from the owners at Ferreira - it's not up to their standard at all from my experience.View more
Exceeds my expectations frankly! I tried the chicken sandwich combo that comes with fries & a green salad. Absolutely delicious, quantity & price are right. May be a bit crowded during peak hours which is understandable. I do recommend. Good job Campo Team 👍View more
