Worth the wait! Primarily vegetarian &/or vegan menu, with options to add meat & dairy to some dishes. Huge sandwiches on fresh pillowy bread & hearty soups (ask about the soup of the day!) Charming & cozy atmosphere with expansive & secluded patio & curated decor. Will be back next time I'm in Montreal!

The place looks cozy, there is a colorful backyard with cute little elements put together, nothing authentic but still cute. We had 2 sandwiches, Olympic 76, & triplex something, really bad Sadwiches, & I mean BAD (tastes bad, too much runny sauce, everything falls off the sandwich, & worst of all just one type of stale bread for all) & quite expensive for the portion & quality. Service was ok, but remember you are not allowed to use your laptop in the Terrrase area, because the owner has said so! I asked one of the waiters & she said people using laptops tend to stay longer which makes sense but why not saying you can't stay more than 60 min or whatever instead of saying you are not allowed to open your laptop here? That doesn't seem reasonable or friendly specially for a casual coffeshop. But later the waiter found us a table inside with cable which was nice. We also tried the classic cheese cake, too sweet & average. Overal won't be going back & mainly because of food.
Quel beau bistro! L'ambiance est celle des cafés du Plateau de la fin du 20e siècle (avant la gentrification & la "starbuckisation" massives), ces cafés originaux qui avaient une déco éclectique & un esprit bohème. & la terrasse pleine de plantes & d'arbres est tout simplement féérique, surtout en soirée quand les guirlandes de lumières sont allumées. Aussi, leur cappuccino est vraiment excellent!
Fabulous sandwiches & soups The Triplex is a great combination of tastes... Only blah thing.... No coordination with kitchen../ Got the Sandwich before the soup....-& ordered 2 coffee's & dessert .... We finished dessert almost before getting the coffee Not your common resto ettiquette Staff was amazing & so on, just needs little tweeks... But an outstanding place to come & enjoy 12 months a year , always fresh & healthy combo's..
The sandwiches at santropol never miss ! Ile des piments is my go to & probably their best to me, I tried their spiced apple juice also which is just perfect to start up fall 🍎 love the way everything looks & the kinda eclectic decor the servers are also very nice

I was really excited to try this place but in the end, I was pretty disappointed. The menu isn't clear about what's vegan or not. They didn't have the macncheese nor tempeh or avocado so we basically ordered 3 items & they came 10 or 15 min later to tell us that they were actually out of 2 out of 3 things we ordered... I did like the chaucer sandwich, bread was super fresh. Vegan cheesecake was also delicious. I wouldn't go back tho.
I went there twice this summer & my first visit there was OK, one staff was a little rude but nothing crazy which is why I had decided to come back. But my second visit here was truly awful. Both people who served us were incredibly rude, after we had ordered our dessert, we ended up waiting over 40 minutes for our paychecks & each time we tried to signal to our server, it was almost as if he was purposefully ignoring us. Not even a sorry or a smile when he finally came to make us pay. my friends & i we're just looking forward to leave & never come back because we felt so unwelcomed.

✅The place is beautiful, especially the garden, which is not something you often see in Montreal. ⚠️It's not really a spot to work. They don't have Wi-Fi, so it's not ideal if you're planning to get some work done. You can bring your laptop, but you're only allowed to use it inside, not in the garden. ❌The space didn't feel as cozy as I hoped, even though the fish & the sound of the water are somewhat relaxing. ✅They offer vegan options, which is nice, but I'm not sure if I would come back just for that. ❌I changed table because I felt so close to the others couples that I can hear the conversations & that made me felt uncomfortable. I think it's just about to improve the distribution.
Une très belle adresse que j'ai découvert par hasard pendant mes balades! Une belle pause bucolique avec le petit jardin. Personnel très accueillant & excellent sandwich.

Les sandwichs sont très bons malgré une attente assez longue devant le restaurant & une fois assis. C'est à nous de faire un signe au bout de 15min aux serveurs pour qu'ils daignent venir prendre notre commande. Le service semble être pas très organisé & peu énergique. Peut être un jour sans...
Great historical place to go to. The food is delicious, fairly priced, & there is a great artsy, student vibe. Will attract people from all ages & walks of life. Highly recommended!
The best sandwiches that I dream of between visits 💭 Get the triplex saint urbain if you are hungry & really want to be wowed! Backyard garden/terrace is a must, when the weather allows.
