The vegetables & cream cheese were the standout dishes. I'm usually not a big fan of either, but this place definitely raised my standards.
Their sandwiches are giant & unbeatable! The bread, which is homemade, is very soft & delicious with a nice crust. If the weather is good, I recommend sitting on the back terrasse!
Very cute cafe with a beautiful garden & atmosphere. I had a nice iced chai as well as a delicious cheesecake. The prices were on the expensive side but not outrageous. Also the utensils were not clean, containing leftover sauce & general grime.
I came here for lunch yesterday, & honestly, I left pretty disappointed since I've enjoyed coming here in the past. We got served by 4 different people, which made everything feel confusing & disorganized. It took 20+ minutes to get our coffees, & the food came around 40 minutes after we ordered. What bothered me was that there was no apology or acknowledgment of it.
I've volunteered at the Roulant before, & yesterday the café really didn't embody its values of humanity or community. I also found the hostess particularly insolent. It's okay not to like a client, but becoming apathetic that quickly shows a lack of basic compassion.
Maybe I'll come back & give it another try, but meh.
C'est fantastique! Beautiful setting & wonderful vegan options. Merci beaucoup.
Super disappointed because I really wanted to like this place :( it was our first time & a number of things went wrong. It took a while for our waitress to come take our order after being seated, & I asked for an iced tea & we also ordered our food at the same time. In the meantime we were served a water pitcher, which come to find out, had dirt & particles in it (after my poor bf already took a sip). Despite coming back to seat multiple nearby tables afterward, she never brought my iced tea. After more & more waiting, other people who showed up after us were served food & drinks so it became clear our waitress completely forgot to give our order to the kitchen. We had to flag down another waitress & ask if she could check on things as well as give us clean water, which she did & we appreciated. Not long after she let us know that everything would be on its way & then I was finally served my drink & then our food after nearly an hour of waiting. For a sandwich & some mac & cheese, there's no excuse for such a long wait time. Tasted fine but overpriced for what it was & by that point we were pretty unimpressed. The outdoor seating area is beautiful & what drew me to come try since I had seen it online, but everything else was such a miss. Really too bad, especially since it seemed no one else was running into the same issues so we felt left out.
Such a perfect spot close to Mount Royal & Tam Tams! Love all the vegan options (the spot is entirely vegetarian) - I had the Mac n cheese & it was awesome! They also have a ton of hot sauces to try. A must try in the city!
