Tout simplement magnifique! L'atmosphère de la terrasse est superbe, paisible & lumineuse. Les sandwiches sont frais & super bons. Le Duluth & le Triplex sont wow! La salade mexicaine est énorme. Bref, une belle découverte.

Don't be fooled by the pictures online, the sandwiches are huge! The food & drinks were delicious & the staff were friendly & polite. It did take awhile before they took our order, but we arrived right as they opened & we had a large group, so I think they were still trying to finish setting up before getting hit with our multiple orders. Wish we could've sat in the patio area, but it was a bit too chilly on the day we went, but we will return again because the back area looked beautiful.View more

Food was spot on & atmosphere was on point. The service just wasn't. Not having been here before I had no clue what to do upon arriving. When my friend asked for a table of two, the girl at the front replied "Are you first in line?" Excuse me? How am I supposed to know that you have to wait in a line? That's not common for a restaurant, normally names are taken. & why am I track if I'm first in line? So we had to ask everyone where they were in the lineup. So strange...... The waitress never followed up after we received our meal. Only took our order & took our plates away. We're supposed to tip for that? These sandwiches are huge & they are messy, I had to use one single napkin the entire time because the waitress did not follow up. Honestly, probably won't come back.View more

Worth the wait! Primarily vegetarian &/or vegan menu, with options to add meat & dairy to some dishes. Huge sandwiches on fresh pillowy bread & hearty soups (ask about the soup of the day!) The place looks cozy, there is a colorful backyard with cute little elements put together, nothing authentic but still cute. We had 2 sandwiches, Olympic 76, & triplex something, really bad Sadwiches, & I mean BAD (tastes bad, too much runny sauce, everything falls off the sandwich, & worst of all just one type of stale bread for all) & quite expensive for the portion & quality. Service was ok, but remember you are not allowed to use your laptop in the Terrrase area, because the owner has said so! I asked one of the waiters & she said people using laptops tend to stay longer which makes sense but why not saying you can't stay more than 60 min or whatever instead of saying you are not allowed to open your laptop here? That doesn't seem reasonable or friendly specially for a casual coffeshop. But later the waiter found us a table inside with cable which was nice. We also tried the classic cheese cake, too sweet & average. Overal won't be going back & mainly because of food.View more

No coordination with kitchen../ Got the Sandwich before the soup....-& ordered 2 coffee's & dessert .... We finished dessert almost before getting the coffee Not your common resto ettiquette Staff was amazing & so on, just needs little tweeks... I got a seat outside & the garden was really pretty & the sun was out too. The sandwiches were also bigger than I thought. I also ordered the chai santropol (iced) i like it, the spices just hit the back of your throat. All staffs were super attentive & everytime I threw a smile at them, they smiled back.View more

This place rocks! The sandwiches were massive & very flavourful. We started with soup which was also exceptional. They have a great vibe, an outdoor patio that almost gives the feeling of eating in the country rather than the city. The line to get in was about 10 minutes but the food & the atmosphere are very much worth it.View more

We came here on purpose, it was rainy weather, & I wanted hot soup. I chose the place because of the reviews, which were really nice. Cuisine: basically the whole idea is for vegans, so they take vegetables from their own garden - I thought so, but I didn't find a garden, but there are also meat products, not a lot, but there are some. We ordered two soups of the day, two sandwiches & tea. The soup was too sweet because of the sweet potatoes, but overall it was okay. The sandwiches, for me, are too simple, I'm not saying simple is bad, I'm saying too simple. Interior: cozy & homely, we didn't sit in the garden because it was raining, but initially it was planned to be something in Japanese style, judging by the fish & sakura outside, overall 4. Service: there is a problem here, I won't go into details, but it's worth it grow & grow, thank you, but the place is not mine, again, I'm an absolute meat eater. but thanksView more

One of my favourite Montreal landmark restaurants. Great place to go after the Tams. Near the park. Gorgeous patio with pond. The decor is eclectic with local art pieces. Vibrant & cozy. The food is amazing. The giant sandwiches with their fresh bread are my favourite. Great choices for vegetarians.View more

Don't get me wrong, I love Santropol. The backyard atmosphere is a real treat & the soups & sandwiches are decent, but the service needs some tweaking. I've been going to Santropol for around 30 years now, & each time the waiters seem to act like you should feel privileged to be there & lucky to be served by them. They rarely crack a smile. Nevertheless, Santropol is a great place to go for lunch. Bring your friends from out of town!View more

Cold gazpacho restored our HP on an oppressively hot day. Great sandwiches too--they look huge but the bread is light & fluffy. Really filling, but fresh & light, & doesn't leave you feeling weighed down. The outside area's a great spot to chill.View more

Very nice little vegetarian, healthy, sandwich place. I got a mango chutney one with chicken salad (sorry i want my meat). It was very fresh & refreshing from all those heavy restaurants. It was a bit expensive in my opinion. My mom raved about this place for so long. The sandwiches are huge! None of us finished them. They were all very good. Too much cream cheese though. I wouldnt mind going back.
