Un havre de paix gourmand au coeur de la ville
Le Café Santropol est une véritable oasis urbaine. Son jardin verdoyant & foisonnant d'objets anciens & d'oeuvres éclectiques en fait un lieu unique où l'on peut se détendre, s'émerveiller… & bien manger ! Les portions sont généreuses, surtout les sandwichs - tellement copieux qu'ils se partagent facilement à deux, ce qui en fait une option parfaite pour les familles avec enfants. Ces derniers y trouvent d'ailleurs un équilibre rare : la stimulation douce de l'exploration du jardin combinée à une atmosphère calme.
C'est aussi mon arrêt préféré après une randonnée au Mont-Royal. Rien de tel qu'une pause relaxante dans ce décor bohème pour savourer l'effort.
💬 Petit bémol : l'endroit gagnerait à être un peu mieux entretenu. Certaines tables sont collantes (le vernis s'effrite), la peinture est défraîchie, & les toilettes auraient besoin d'un rafraîchissement. Cela dit, ces détails n'enlèvent rien au charme général du lieu - un café hors du temps qui vaut le détour.View more

Atmosphere is great! Reminds me of LA ! Made me super nostalgic... love that they had vegan & vegetarian options.
Salad was nice. Sandwhich was good mostly cuz I was starving. Id go back to try the vegan mac n cheese! Definitely curious. I wouldnt buy the sandwhich again like it was okay. Salad would take again tho.

Worth the wait! Primarily vegetarian &/or vegan menu, with options to add meat & dairy to some dishes. Huge sandwiches on fresh pillowy bread & hearty soups (ask about the soup of the day!) Charming & cozy atmosphere with expansive & secluded patio & curated decor. Will be back next time I'm in Montreal!View more

✅The place is beautiful, especially the garden, which is not something you often see in Montreal. ⚠️It's not really a spot to work. They don't have Wi-Fi, so it's not ideal if you're planning to get some work done. You can bring your laptop, but you're only allowed to use it inside, not in the garden. ❌The space didn't feel as cozy as I hoped, even though the fish & the sound of the water are somewhat relaxing. ✅They offer vegan options, which is nice, but I'm not sure if I would come back just for that. ❌I changed table because I felt so close to the others couples that I can hear the conversations & that made me felt uncomfortable. I think it's just about to improve the distribution.View more

L'extérieur, avec un étang & un petit jardin, offre un cadre paisible & agréable, idéal pour se détendre loin de l'agitation de la ville. Le menu propose une belle variété de plats, avec de nombreuses options végétariennes, ce qui en fait un excellent choix pour un déjeuner sain & savoureux. My local friend brought me here! 1st it's a cute place from the indoor or the patio garden 2nd staff are nice & friendly, I don't feel rush to order thing or finishing the food, they gave us time to order & even check if we have question about the menu 3rd the food is great! It's not like a huge menu option like a chain restaurants but it have its charm! I would totally come back to try other food & drinks! Merci!View more

Very pretty cafe, both inside & the terrace, with a lovely pond with cute red fish! The food options are limited though, mainly vegan & I believe a bit expensive for what you get. I liked my spiced chai though, & a warm bowl of soup was what I needed on the terrace, cause I visited early November when Its chilly Overall, worth visiting because of the cute ambiance (I think it would even be more lovely in Summer), but maybe for drinks, not the food.View more

i thought it would be expensive because of the location & beautiful garden terrace, but the food was cheap, *&* they had a lot of vegan options, including vegan dessert.
i ate a very good vegan chili which was a good portion for the price, & a small but good vegan "cheesecake".View more
