I found my new favorite magical place in Montreal!
I saw their ad on Instagram & had to check it out.
It teleported me to a gem I love on Costa Rica, so for me, it was quote special.
There are several different areas to sit, each with its own style & ambiance. I sat in the garden in the back. The coy fish pond was a particularly magical addition to the place.
The food was great. I had Borscht soup. Brought me back to my childhood when my dad used to make this soup often.
Reasonably priced, too.
Will 100% come back ! Thank you for making the IG ad !

Food wasn't more than tolerable, except for the soup which was great. Service was untrained. Overall needs to tighten up in many areas.View more
The place is beautiful & very cozy. The service was good, & all the soups I tried were delicious & definitely worth the price. I also tried a sandwich that I didn't enjoy as much, but overall, it was a great experience. I would recommend this place to others.View more
This is a great place with a great vibe & really pretty interior but if you're going to come here on weekend be ready that it's very crowded & you'll have to wait in a queue a lot. I was surprised that even tho there's a lot of people it's still quiet & cozy. Drinks & soups are very good & very affordable!
I want to mention the people that are working here, they're doing a great job & even tho it's so hard & stressful to have a non-stop flow of clients they're still nice, patient & respectful. I'll 100% come here again but will try to find a day when it's a little less crowded.
Special thanks to the hostess at this establishment, she is wonderful 🌟View more
Their daily soup & their bread tasted amazing!View more
Worth the wait! Primarily vegetarian &/or vegan menu, with options to add meat & dairy to some dishes. Huge sandwiches on fresh pillowy bread & hearty soups (ask about the soup of the day!) Charming & cozy atmosphere with expansive & secluded patio & curated decor. Will be back next time I'm in Montreal!View more
Fabulous sandwiches & soups The Triplex is a great combination of tastes... Only blah thing.... No coordination with kitchen../ Got the Sandwich before the soup....-& ordered 2 coffee's & dessert .... We finished dessert almost before getting the coffee Not your common resto ettiquette Staff was amazing & so on, just needs little tweeks... But an outstanding place to come & enjoy 12 months a year , always fresh & healthy combo's..View more
This place rocks! The sandwiches were massive & very flavourful. We started with soup which was also exceptional. They have a great vibe, an outdoor patio that almost gives the feeling of eating in the country rather than the city. The line to get in was about 10 minutes but the food & the atmosphere are very much worth it.View more
We came here on purpose, it was rainy weather, & I wanted hot soup. I chose the place because of the reviews, which were really nice. Cuisine: basically the whole idea is for vegans, so they take vegetables from their own garden - I thought so, but I didn't find a garden, but there are also meat products, not a lot, but there are some. We ordered two soups of the day, two sandwiches & tea. The soup was too sweet because of the sweet potatoes, but overall it was okay. The sandwiches, for me, are too simple, I'm not saying simple is bad, I'm saying too simple. Interior: cozy & homely, we didn't sit in the garden because it was raining, but initially it was planned to be something in Japanese style, judging by the fish & sakura outside, overall 4. Service: there is a problem here, I won't go into details, but it's worth it grow & grow, thank you, but the place is not mine, again, I'm an absolute meat eater. but thanksView more
Very cute place to sit inside/out, the food is very good, great vibes, great service, make sure to try their soup of the day. 10/10 must try.View more
Great soup & sandwiches! We had a great time & our server was friendly & helpful. We were 5 people.View more
This cafe is just aesthetically outstanding & super cozy. One of the nicest I've been to in Montreal. I really enjoyed the soup & the coffee was amazing. My friend also enjoyed the smoked salmon sandwich.View more
Don't get me wrong, I love Santropol. The backyard atmosphere is a real treat & the soups & sandwiches are decent, but the service needs some tweaking. I've been going to Santropol for around 30 years now, & each time the waiters seem to act like you should feel privileged to be there & lucky to be served by them. They rarely crack a smile. Nevertheless, Santropol is a great place to go for lunch. Bring your friends from out of town!View more
Cozy atmosphere & delicious food! Try their soups, the killer tomato sandwich & the chili with cheese! Great array of veggie options. My favourite sandwich place in MontrealView more
Cafe Santropol...use to live next door for years. My kind of place. Relaxed atmosphere & great vegetarian soups, chili, & sandwiches. A beautiful outdoor back garden to enjoy in the summer. ✨️ 💖 ✨️View more
Very pretty cafe, both inside & the terrace, with a lovely pond with cute red fish! The food options are limited though, mainly vegan & I believe a bit expensive for what you get. I liked my spiced chai though, & a warm bowl of soup was what I needed on the terrace, cause I visited early November when Its chilly Overall, worth visiting because of the cute ambiance (I think it would even be more lovely in Summer), but maybe for drinks, not the food.View more
Shared a sandwich & soup. Both were 10 out of 10.View more
