San G is a great spot with super friendly staff & a welcoming vibe. The team is always kind & attentive, & you can tell they care about their customers. The pizza is fresh daily & consistently delicious. Definitely a place a local gem I come back to when I'm in the area.
Bonjour ! L'endroit est très sympa ! Les serveurs sont très gentils, les pizzas & les gâteaux sont délicieux ! Le café est très bon ! Seul point faible de temps en temps mon latte est rempli au 3/4, cela dépend du barista. À part ça je recommande !

Best coffee, lattes, & cappuccino- so smooth! Best pistachio croissant & pizza! Love love it! Authentic! Fav spot for us travelling from Toronto! We will be back again before our trip ends!
I've visited Café San Gennaro twice now, & both times were delightful experiences. Their pizza was tasty, but the real standout was their cannolis (the shell was perfectly crisp, while the filling was smooth, creamy, & just the right level of sweetness). All the flavors balanced beautifully, making it one of the best cannolis I've had.
The latte was also well made, & overall, the prices felt fair for the quality you get. The only downside is that seating can be limited, especially during peak hours, so timing your visit matters.
What really adds to the experience is the friendly & welcoming staff, who make you feel right at home. If you're looking for a cozy café with great Italian treats, Café San Gennaro is definitely worth a visit!

My friend brought me to this place, & it made me feel like I was at home. The pizzas are excellent. Warmed up or fresh off the tray, they are amazing. They remind me of what my Nona & great aunts used to make when I was a kid-taking one bite through me back 30 years. The pastries are fluffy & sweet. I had the pistachio donut, which tasted like soft, sweet bread with a pinch of pistachio cream. We tried Margherita & Mariana. Both are superb choices. Next time, I'm excited to try the pepperoni. We finished with two cannolis, which were fantastic. I will have to go back & buy a dozen to share with my family. All the staff were super friendly with a giant smile, ready to provide excellent customer service. I did enjoy the attempt to upsell & see if there was anything else the customer was interested in purchasing.

Very delicious pizza slices fresh & tasty The latte was unexpectedly great!!! Service was excellent & servers were nice but keep in mind its packed with too many people & you wont find a space to sit down until you wait but its worth it! I will definitely come back!
The pizza & the Lattes were amazing! But the best of all was our server Tom. Incredibly handsome, & his chat with us made our time there wonderful. 10/10 would recommend to everybody!

La pizza était super bonne! La croûte était croustillante & moelleuse, il y avait beaucoup de sauce, c'était super! Malheureusement, je n'ai pas vécu la même expérience avec le beigne. J'ai trouvé celui-ci beaucoup trop huileux. J'avais l'impression de croquer dans une éponge d'huile. C'est tout ce que je vais dire dessus. C'est très petit comme endroit, alors les tables semblent plus service de place pour attendre sa commande que pour manger. Finalement, ils m'ont dit que ma commande allait prendre 15 minutes, alors que cela a pris le double. J'avais bien faim😆 Je ne recommande pas cet endroit pour les étudiants, car je trouve cela un peu cher.
San Gennaro is a fantastic little gem in Little Italy. Just off of St. Laurent, right next to Bottega Restaurant. It's really un-missable & well worth going to. Nothing alleviates the hot Montreal summer like sipping a cool caffe freddo on the terrace at San G. The open kitchen concept is a refreshing change in the cafe scene as you will likely see the owners hard-at-work making delicious pizzas al taglio & classic Italian pastries. You have to try the Nutella bombolone, indulge & get the bigger size! After enjoying many coffees at San Gennaro like I have, you'll somehow never be satisfied with franchised coffee shops anymore. Mauro makes an exceptional latte!
The ambience is spot on too! You walk into authentic old-school Italian music & everyone, staff & customers alike are always smiling. You'll feel as if you've just walked into a cafe in Napoli! The place is still relatively new but it's obvious that it already has many regulars, myself included! As a matter of fact, my boyfriend & I will often drive all the way from Laval to Little Italy just for the killer coffee & friendly staff.
With its young vibe & its fresh take on what a happening cafe should be in Montreal, & whether it's for a simple espresso or grabbing lunch with some old friends, San Gennaro's hip atmosphere & adherence to both quality & tradition will satisfy even the most discerning of Italian pallets!
