Great people working there dedicated to creating the right vibe inside the cafe & outside on the sunny terrace. It's the perfect mix between old school & new school. Get any of the pizza slices & a spro, you can't go wrong!
Best pizza in town honestly ! Sad that I don't go to Mila campus anymore cause it's on the same street but still worth the detour to
Little Italy just to grab some.
& they are always so nice particularly with tgtg pick up cause most restaurants don't really act nice when you pick up bags but I think they gave me the best pick up experience ever & that what make me come back as a regular customer! Worth every penny!
It's basically like being in Italy. Have a seat at the bar, enjoy a coffee, a nice slice of pizza & finish off with their delicious sweets. Do yourself a favor & walk in hungry!
Sunday brunch, Italian edition 🇮🇹🍕☕?
Three slices, one cappuccino, & four self-declared travel experts planning their third'once-in-a-lifetime' trip to Italy. 😏
Best deli-style Italian pizza, hands down, in Montreal! Tastes like I'm in Italy! & the coffee…& the pastries…I mean, it's all just excellent!
Very good pizza, sweets & coffee. Pretty popular for Little Italy & very good too. Nice employees as well.
Cafe San Genaro is always a good time. You immediately feel at home or in Italy where you can get some coffee with a glass if water & eat the BEST bombolone ever. Their ameretti with apricot jam is delicious & their breakfast pizza with an egg on top is the heartiest for a busy day!!
First time here. The wait was short. It was packed. A full & popular spot in little Italy. The food is great, I really enjoyed the focaccia & the cannolis. The service is nice. But the coffee was just okay honestly for 6$ it wasn't worth it. The Spicy honey was very light so just ok.
Tried the bombolone with pistachio & another one with nutella, they were amazing! Fluffy, light, airy, just like in Italy! I'd highly recommend this place.
Best coffee, best coffee. So good, so satisfying. My go to place in little italy !
For starters this place is very authentic, I knew when the workers were speaking Italian that it would live up to the reviews & it didn't disappoint. I haven't had pastries like this since Italy & believe me I've tried to find them. One major difference is that the pastries don't leave you feeling bloated & gross. I had two slices of pizza, a cannoli & half a donut & feel fine, in fact I could have eaten a few more donuts. The best part about this place is the pricing is very fair & the tip options starts at 10%, a dying feature in modern eating out. Bravo.
Quick stop here while walking around little Italy & the pizza definitely did not disappoint, crust was airy & crispy, sauce was fresh & lite. Sad that we are elsewhere prior to stopping here or I would have had a few slices.

San Gennaro is a fantastic little gem in Little Italy. Just off of St. Laurent, right next to Bottega Restaurant. It's really un-missable & well worth going to. Nothing alleviates the hot Montreal summer like sipping a cool caffe freddo on the terrace at San G. The open kitchen concept is a refreshing change in the cafe scene as you will likely see the owners hard-at-work making delicious pizzas al taglio & classic Italian pastries. You have to try the Nutella bombolone, indulge & get the bigger size! After enjoying many coffees at San Gennaro like I have, you'll somehow never be satisfied with franchised coffee shops anymore. Mauro makes an exceptional latte!
The ambience is spot on too! You walk into authentic old-school Italian music & everyone, staff & customers alike are always smiling. You'll feel as if you've just walked into a cafe in Napoli! The place is still relatively new but it's obvious that it already has many regulars, myself included! As a matter of fact, my boyfriend & I will often drive all the way from Laval to Little Italy just for the killer coffee & friendly staff.
With its young vibe & its fresh take on what a happening cafe should be in Montreal, & whether it's for a simple espresso or grabbing lunch with some old friends, San Gennaro's hip atmosphere & adherence to both quality & tradition will satisfy even the most discerning of Italian pallets!
