Review Summary

Reviews of Café Saigon describe a cozy, unpretentious spot with flavorful, comforting dishes, generous portions and reasonable prices. Many praise the crispy chicken, the General Tao, the Saigon chow mein, and comforting soups, and the overall service is described as attentive and friendly, with the option to bring your own wine. While a few notes point to occasional payment hiccups or dishes that do not fully meet expectations, the overall impression is of satisfying Vietnamese and fusion fare served in a warm, welcoming setting.

This is definetely a place to avoid. The tonkinoise soupe had no flavor. May as well have payed for a bottle of water & it would be more satisfying . Worst viet food ever.

Delicious restaurant! I had the chicken red curry with coconut milk & lemongrass. The flavors were amazing. Way too spicy for my liking but I survived. We even got a little sample of general tao which I also loved. Honestly everything was so tasty & flavorful. We got there at 6, good thing because by 7:30 the place was packed. The service was very good, quick & the waiter was helpful with the questions we had about the menu.
The only bad thing was the noise level & the cash only.

After some shopping in Rue St-Catherine we were dying for some good Asian food. You can bring your own wine in Cafe Saigon. Don't we love this?
The atmosphere was quite busy & noisy, but that didn't bother us. I think some people had a bit too much of the wine they brought ;-)
The place itself hasn't got a terrace or big windows, but there's plenty of space. You can breathe.
We ordered Pork & Shrimp Rolls with a groundnut sauce. Very nice. The other Springroll was also quite tasty. Good starters.
The General Tao Chicken was absolutely great. Crunchy & really tasty, served with some pretty good rice. The Red Chili Beef Noodles with fresh Mint, Cucumber & Carrots were also quite refined.
Very nice dinner for a correct price. We definetely recommend this little charming Vietnamese restaurant! Cheers.
