Review Summary

Reviewers describe Café Pierre Jean Jase as a warmly welcoming, charming spot where attentive staff and a cozy atmosphere make dining feel like home, with high quality, flavorful dishes made from local ingredients and good value for money. The menu covers brunch and everyday meals with generous portions, and there are options for different diets, including gluten free, with crepes and other items clearly labeled, and English and French menus available. The place is praised for its friendly vibe, family friendliness with toys for kids and high chairs, and a lively, stylish decor that suits both couples and groups. On balance experiences are positive, though a few visits note occasional inconsistencies such as limited eggs Benedict offerings on busy mornings, extra charges for certain items, or occasional flaws like sauce or texture issues, reminding that results can vary by day. Overall Café Pierre Jean Jase stands out in Sherbrooke as a beloved local brunch and lunch choice, attracting locals and visitors who leave satisfied and inclined to return.

Small intimate ambiance with lots of natural wood. Excellent service. We went for breakfast on a Friday. Our server explained that everything on the menu was available except the eggs benedixt which was only available on weekends. The breakfast was served with a homemade apple spread that we were told was meant for our toast, but I ate it by the spoon. It was delicious, not sweet, a bit bitter in a way that was very tasty. My friends ordered sausage & it was served with a small serving of what looked like homemade honey mustard which they said was very good. Their meal came with a vege pate, which they noted contained beats. Despite the fact that they had been hesitant to order the dish with the veggie pate they were actually pleasantly surprised & loved it. My eggs (over easy), were served just right. None of that brown overdoneness that can sometimes occur to fried eggs. The bacon was smokey, which you don't find very often at many restaurants. There were only 2 bread choices... brown bread or gluten free. I had visited this restaurant several years ago & recalled that they use to have an excellent homemade bread. I was very disappointed to see that their brown bread now seems to be generic store bought bread & was nothing to write home about. The coffee was quite good, & the potatoes seemed to be made on the grill (not deep fried - I do prefer my potatoes on the grill). They had a special seasoning which really set them apart from other breakfast locations. Definitely one of the better breakfasts in the Sherbrooke / Eastern Townships region. I'd say one of the top 10.

There isn't a parking lot & the restaurant is located on a one way street so it might be good to show up early to look for available street parking. I got lucky & managed to find a spot very close by but I remember this being a challenge during busy weekends when I visited in the past.
