Some places you plan for. Others, you just get lucky because the universe locks a door & forces you to look left.

Two years back, my girlfriend & I were cold & wet from the harsh winter weather, we also happened to be near the Old Port, just looking for a simple cup of tea. The place we wanted was closed. So we went into this small spot down the street called Café Parfum De Perse.
The first thing that hits you is the air. It's thick with toasted walnuts, fresh bread, & steaming basmati rice. It feels warm, raw, & real art tucked into every corner, board games on the shelves, & a piano under the stairs. If someone sits down to play, they turn down the background speakers right away. The room just gives you the floor.
The people running it make the space what it is. The server is this hilarious, magnetic guy who somehow remembers everyone, talking about his culture like it's a gift he can't wait to hand you. Then there's the owner with these killer 60s vintage frames looks straight out of a vintage European film. Almost every single day, when my girlfriend & I walk our dog past the entrance door, he looks up & waves. It feels like a movie set right in our own neighborhood.
& the food... man. You have to order the Fesenjan. It's a slow simmered chicken stew with walnuts & pomegranate, served over bright saffron rice. You can tell they spend hours rendering down those walnuts until the natural oils rise to the top. It's dark, tart, rich, & ridiculously deep. Hands down one of the coolest things I've ever tasted.
We ended up bringing my mom & my brother here for tea & board games, & they got hooked too. It's three minutes from our apartment, but walking inside feels like escaping on a quiet honeymoon. It's a room full of our best memories. Easy 10/10.

Parfums de Perse is a wonderful place to experience authentic Persian cuisine & hospitality. It's the perfect combination of a cozy café & a traditional Persian restaurant.

The menu offers a great variety of authentic Iranian dishes, especially delicious Northern Persian specialties, all prepared with fresh ingredients & rich flavors. They also serve excellent Persian tea, freshly brewed coffee, & a tempting selection of pastries & desserts.

The atmosphere is warm, inviting, & beautifully designed, making it a great spot for both a relaxing coffee break & a memorable meal. The staff are friendly, attentive, & make you feel truly welcome.

Whether you're craving authentic Persian food or simply looking for a great café to enjoy tea, coffee, & sweets, I highly recommend Parfums de Perse. I will definitely be coming back.

Loved the authentic vibe. The saffron candy stick in the black tea is a must-try, & their ash soup was rich & flavorful. 5 stars!

This place has a really great atmosphere if you like Persian culture. The Music, decoration & the smell in the air, took me right back to my country.
We tried Halim Bademjan, followed by two Persian tea, & a super delicious Baklava Cake, that I think was the best part of the our evening. It was so good that we bought two more to take home & eat later.
The owners are super warm & kind.

We've been very disappointed in our last visit. Everything was way overpriced & the quality for sure was degraded. Herbal tea that described as ginger,lemon & mint has no ginger & very sour. Price is definitely much higher than any nearby cafes. I don't recommend this place anymore & wouldn't come back again.

I came for dessert & wasn't disappointed. I love the genuine hospitality by both the owner & the staff. I was suggested the pistachio cake & Persian tea. It was delicious!
