Café Paper Hill is a café-bistro offering a selection of certified coffees, local seasonal dishes you can eat in or take away, evening aperitifs, alongside books and newspapers so you can unplug and refuel. Located in a heritage building, this place has a storied past. The story we choose to celebrate is its early days as home to the first print houses and publishers of Montreal. It is only fitting that we’ve dedicated an entire wall to our curated collection of books and magazines. Come in to savour an espresso and get lost in a novel, or simply pop-in for a change of pace.

I started coming here regularly & often spent a decent amount over lunch, sometimes $30 to $40, while working outside for an hour or two. Every time I visited, other professionals seemed to be doing the same. I was recently told laptops aren't allowed outdoors, even though the space was mostly empty. The owner mentioned they're building a separate area for that, but in the meantime, it feels like a policy that pushes away loyal customers who just want to enjoy the outdoor space while working for a short time. Laptop batteries don't last all day - no one's camping out. Policies like this can really undercut the kind of community that keeps a place going.View more

My favorite place in this neighborhood for coffee (love their café filtre), for a quick breakfast, for an hour or two of deep work on the computer, for a chat with a friend over a glass of wine on the terrace. Really everything you need if you live nearby!View more
