We found this cafe in Mile-End while on vacation in Montreal. In the morning we ordered 2 caffe lattes (one oat, the other dairy) which were so rich & delicious. The food looked & smelled delicious, like my Nonna's kitchen in Brooklyn! But sadly we had lunch reservations elsewhere. As we were leaving we struck up a conversation with the baristas who were warm & kind. After exploring Mile-End for a couple of hours we were hungry & thirsty & knew we had to come back to Cafe Novanta! We returned & order more coffee & dessert (tiramisu & the pignoli lemon custard cake) which were delicious! Again as we left we couldn't help but strike up a conversation with the baristas (who remembered us)! They told us more about their cafe, all of the homemade foods & desserts, & some recommendations for what to do if we come back to visit Montreal. They were courteous, funny, & warm.

This is a great coffee with amazing staff & out of this world food. You can go wrong getting any of the sandwiches or cakes & the great coffee. All while being served by the coolest Italian brothers ever.

Since moving to the mile end a year ago I’ve been on the hunt for the best coffee in the neighbourhood as there’s lots to choose from. I stumbled upon Novanta during the ice storm back in March because they were the only coffee place open. Now I can’t go anywhere else! The kind staff, the quality of coffee, & the atmosphere make Novanta a 10/10!
