Review Summary

Review roundups depict Café Gelato as a popular Little Italy spot known for rich creamy gelato, flavorful coffee, and well presented breakfast, with many praising the quality and authenticity of the gelato and the inviting, clean space and cozy seating, sometimes with a sunlit patio; the staff are frequently described as friendly and accommodating, contributing to a welcoming atmosphere, though some complaints surface about inconsistent service during busy times and occasional hours that do not match posted schedules; while the gelato is repeatedly highlighted as high quality and the options generous, a few comments call pricing steep and some flavors limited or not as varied as hoped, and a small number express doubt about authenticity or value; overall Café Gelato is viewed as a dependable, family friendly hub with a strong community vibe and a range of Italian treats that keep regulars returning for dessert, coffee, and a casual hangout.

Excellent service high quality gelato

Café Gelato is truly one of the hidden gems of Montreal. From the moment you walk in, you're welcomed by a warm & inviting atmosphere, beautiful décor, & a team that genuinely cares about the experience of their guests. The space has a great vibe whether you're stopping in for a quick coffee, enjoying a relaxed brunch, or meeting friends.

The menu is thoughtfully curated & everything feels fresh & high quality. The brunch options are excellent, the paninis are delicious, & the desserts are incredible. Their homemade gelato is definitely a highlight & a must-try if you visit. You can really tell that a lot of attention is put into the ingredients & the preparation.

What makes this place special is the overall experience great food, great coffee, friendly service, & a welcoming neighborhood feel. It's the kind of spot you want to come back to again & again. Highly recommended if you're in Montreal.

Absolutely love Café Gelato Saint Laurent!

This gem stands out not only for its immaculate cleanliness everything is always spotless & inviting but also for its incredible variety of authentic gelato. You can taste the quality & care in every scoop. From classics to creative flavors, there's something for everyone.

What truly sets Café Gelato apart in the neighborhood is their community spirit. They're the only ones around consistently giving back hosting small, thoughtful events throughout the year, especially during Grand Prix weekend & La Semaine Italienne de Montréal. Animals Welcome!

It's more than just a café it's a local hub. With free bathroom access (a rarity on St-Laurent), great coffee, delicious brunch options, & house-made desserts, it's clear they care about every guest's experience.

A must-visit in Little Italy. Authentic, clean, generous, & full of heart.

Gelato is that hidden gem you stumble upon & quickly becomes your favorite spot. It exudes a unique, laid-back European vibe while selling fun & unexpected treats like Matheson's mac & cheese. You might start with coffee & gelato, but you'll definitely return for the ricotta pancakes & the infectious festive ambiance during soccer games or Italian Week. The sweet Italian nonni who frequent the place add to its charm. They make it feel like home. Also, the mortadella pistachio sandwich is my favorite in the neighborhood. Oh, they also serve amazing cocktails! 🍹☀️

Super découverte! Le brunch est absolument délicieux, mais également, super abordable. Évidement, le café glacé est un must à essayer. Je recommande vivement & le propriétaire est très sympathique & dévoué. A real gem!
