Café Americano on Mont-Royal is a gem! Their coffee always hits the spot, & the chicken parm sandwich? Absolute perfection. I'm still dreaming about their focaccia bread: please bring it back, it completes the experience!!! The vibe is cozy, the staff are super friendly, & every visit feels like a little happy escape. Definitely one of my favorite spots in the city!

Wow! 5 stars for the chicken cutlet sandwich. I didn't expect it to be that good. I ate half for lunch & half for dinner. Delicious. Highly recommend this Italian sandwich shop in the Plateau!
Unfortunately there was a line during lunch time, but it went by fairly quickly. Server was great because he was the one who recommended the poulet pane.

Great atmosphere, friendly staff, portions are quite good for the price.
Food was made quite quickly from time of order.
Sandwich was quite nice, I ordered the chicken parm, good amount of chicken & not an overwhelming amount of veggies. Was served warm but not overly hot, which is a nice attention to detail.
They offer many other options other than Sandwiches, from aranchini to cheesecake. They also offer baked goods & many coffee based drinks as seen on their menu.
Atmosphere is nice, not overwhelming with loud music & very simple chair & bench seating for the customer.
Be prepared for a short wait to order, as they always seem to be busy, a good thing to see.
10/10 would come again

Been here for coffee multiple times & it's always been nice (iced americano, flat white with oat milk) & also recently tried a cheesecake (blueberry) all very nice ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Cannot recommend the arancini (prosciutto) or hot sandwich (chicken parm) at all which is why this gets a three star overall. There is no flavour. The chicken was dry & overcooked. The sauce was bland. Both were unevenly warmed (microwaved?) & it was a very disappointing lunch in terms of taste, temperature & texture. Highlight was the bread used for the sandwich.
Will stick to the coffee & cheesecake options going forward.

The coffee is mid & the design of the cafe is so millennial it hurts but the sandwiches are unreal. Get a coffee down the street & get a spicy sausage or a chicken cutlet hell yeah! Bring back focaccia!

I was disappointed to find they no longer serve the crispy baked chicken parm on focaccia, which was always my favorite. While the chicken is still delicious, it just isn't the same without the focaccia. There was no explanation for the change, & I hope they bring it back. I'd gladly give 5 stars if they do, but without it, I may not visit as often.

I went to this place by random. I ordered chicken grill demi( half), it was awesome! The bread, the sauces, & the chicken were all really fresh & good. Seems very healthy. It was not salty at all( which is a great option). Sauces are natural & Italian style..the price for the sandwich seem really reasonable

A friend & I wanted a coffee & Café Americano beckoned us to stop by its attractive store front. The abundant fresh chicken sandwich accompanied with cheese, tomato & lettuce was divided in two & satisfied both our appetites. A big selection of sandwiches are offered & cheesecake for the sweet tooth are an absolute must! The coffee will be made to your specific taste!

Sandwiches are bursting with flavor & fresh ingredients, from the juicy chicken, to the cold cut prosciutto, it's that kind of each bite that leaves you wanting more. & pistachio croissant was delicious as well. A must try! Thank you for the amazing staff, service & generosity of portions. Will be back for more.

Visited twice. Busy place but service is efficient & friendly. We did not have to wait long for our orders. 3* for the coffee drinks. From our visits, our orders were inconsistent. The mocha we ordered tasted different each time. The second time around, the drink was way too sweet, comparable to a hot chocolate. We did not appreciate it. We were served a better beverage the first time, with a better ratio of coffee to chocolate. The sandwiches are generously portioned. The ciabattas are fresh & substantial. We had the Chicken Parm & the Cold Cuts sandwiches. If you are used to visiting other similar Italian sandwich spots around the city, you may find that Café Americano's lacked on flavor. Sandwiches could have used more condiments or spices, in our opinion. Overall, still a good option if you are in the area. Coffee is seemingly hit or miss. If you visit often, consider grabbing a rewards card.

So far I had a chicken sandwich & the pumpkin latte & nutella croissant, everything tasted great. I took the small sandwich but to me it looked huge, si kudos for the portions & the coffee is good quality you can actually taste it in a latte, not just a sirupy milk like many other places. I found the place beautiful too, the deco gives it a special vibe. Makes me want to come back
