Cabane à sucre Au Pied de Cochon offers a festive cabin atmosphere and a creative, indulgent multi course sugar shack experience that blends traditional Quebec dishes with a French influence. Guests consistently praise the generous portions and the option to bring leftovers home in containers. The meals unfold in a four course rhythm with amuse bouche, starter, main and dessert, presented for sharing and paced to allow time between courses. The vibe is warm and convivial, though it can be lively and noisy, and some guests report waiting outside for pm seats in winter. Service is generally friendly and attentive, but a few reviews note inconsistency or delays when the room is busy. Menu highlights and signature items such as the foie gras cornet, pithivier and creme brulee are described as extraordinary, while a handful of dishes are criticized for being overly salty or heavy. Price and portion remarks vary, with some saying portions have shrunk while prices rose. Still, the overall experience is memorable and often recommended, especially for groups, with the seasonal menu repeatedly drawing guests back.

Went to the harvest meal & it was absolutely delicious! 5 star to all courses. The food wasn't heavy, just tasty & perfectly made, the pics show the meals my husband & I shared. We went at 12:30 & left at 2:45pm. Servers were incredibly nice, we had to wait a bit for the first course but after that it went smoothly. Very generous amount of food, basically you have to make it your only meal of the day. We will definitely go back ❤?
Drove up from Boston after making a reservation a month ago for a Friday night 8pm dinner seating. We had no idea what to expect but when we arrived there was a bonfire outside & a table to buy canned drinks while you waited. Loved the fire! The 5pm seating was running a bit late so we hung out for a bit & were seated at 820ish. We were a table of 2. Would go back with a large group since the menu is family style & the ambiance of the restaurant feels best for a group dinner!
We sat at the bar & Max the bartender was awesome - super attentive & made the experience even better.
The food was amazing, & we took home quite a bit of leftovers. We had no idea what to expect since you don't receive a menu & were told to pace ourselves but it is hard when everything is so good! Every dish was different & creative, playing on the seasonal ingredients of late September. The wine list was extensive & we went with a bottle that was amazing, as well as a cocktail & espresso to end the evening. Our favorite dishes happened to be the first two amouse bouches of the evening! 10/10 would recommend & go back.
It's been over 10 years since my last visit, & I was really looking forward to coming back. One thing I noticed right away is how much the portions have shrunk while the price has gone up. Back in the days, we were able to eat until we were completely stuffed & even bring some home. This time, the portions were considerably smaller, & the price felt noticeably higher.
That said, the quality of the food has been maintained, & the flavors were still excellent. It's still a unique dining experience, but definitely different from what it used to be.

My first time in this legendary place. Went for the 3pm seating which gave us plenty of time to take a leisurely stroll in the woods. Sat at the bar. Comfortable high chairs with foot rest. Wonderful, attentive service from the bartender. The meal was delicious!!! Everything was 5 stars except maybe the salads. I'd give them a 4.5 star rating. Good, but not at the exquisite level of the rest of the meal. I'll definitely be back for their sugar shack menu next year.
Experienced the end of harvest dinner. There were a couple stand out dishes like the bison carpaccio, the ratatouille tart & the tomato soup. All of the other dishes were ok however the fennel salad was bland. Service was mixed- some waiters were attentive while others forgot to replace our cutlery in two occasions (while at other tables it was done right away) or asked the same question over & over, clearly having a miss communication. The drinks, specially the margarita, were on point though- kudos to the bartender.
