I took the 20$ lunch special & it was delicious & filling. Lechon plate + Crab rangoon + Calamansi drink. Food was so good that I forgot I wanted to take a picture & ate half the plate before remembering. Great friendly service.
I'm new to Filipino food. I tried the pork lechon - wow, the skin is soooooooooooo krispy. I like the flavor.
Still other things to try for next time. Funky decor.
I hope many other interesting spots pop up in this mall. (Yes the resto is located inside the mall, but it's the first thing you will see upon entering though the western-most entrance)
Minor pet peeve: it would be nice if they switched to aluminum pan, or something that's not non-stick. Buboy is FAR from the only resto that chooses that convenience ofc 🙂 I'm just putting my wish out into the world … ✨🥹🔈

I've been wanting to go here since I always see this on my FYP.I I was so excited & been wanting to eat food that feels HOME.I am sorry to say but the place was dissapointing.The person was all by himself /herself & I don't mind waiting .But the treatment was cold,merely transactional & I even felt shy to speak in Tagalog. Food was so-so,nothing specially or maybe I just expected more .
First sa nag babantay ng store na to.attitude problem.
Hindi approachable.walang freindly great..Serving ng sisig with extra rice. Extra rice nakalagay sa palito.walang extra plate.so habang nag assist ng ibang customer.sa harap ng counter nakahilera ang mga pinggan.so nag kusa akong kumuha.pero si bantay biglang nag salita na parang kasalanan ko pa.wag kang basta basta kumuha ng hindi mo sinasabi sakin?kelangan pa bang iutos eh nasa harap mo na kukunin mo nalang.Ganun ba dapat tratuhin ang customer?parang hindi filipino restaurant.hindi feeling at home.
Food?honestly kelangan ng improvement.walang wow factor.Imbes na ganahan kang kumain.nakakawalang ganang kumain hindi dahil sa food.dahil sa ugali ng nag babantay...
Very disappointing experience. The photos & menu are misleading. The actual place looks nothing like what's advertised. Cleanliness & sanitation also did not seem well maintained.
I tried speaking Tagalog while ordering but the staff couldn't communicate in the language, which surprised me given how the place presents itself. The service also felt rude & not very welcoming, I think they also don't know what they are selling.
On top of that, the menu was inaccurate because several Filipino dishes shown or advertised were not actually available. Overall, the experience really did not meet expectations we wasted our 3hrs travel time to visit this place because we thought it's really worth to try. I was honestly surprised to see so many positive reviews because our experience was very different from what I expected after reading them.
I've been coming to Buboy for a while now, & it never disappoints. The food is consistently delicious, the menu has a great variety, & every dish is full of authentic Filipino flavour. It's truly one of Montreal's hidden gems. The warm atmosphere, the familiar aromas, & the welcoming environment make it feel like home every time .
Huge credit to Eric & his team for creating such a special place & putting so much heart into it.
Good, thought missing some veggie in the dishes. I enjoyed the food though I'm not sure enough to go out of my way to go back. The meat was delicious. The lechon baboy had too much rice for the meat if I recall right. & the bulalo was good, meat was good though. Tender.
