If you only have 8 things on the menu it is inexcusable to'run out' of your highest rated, signature dish.
I came to try the veal ravioli only to find out they had run out.
I was very disappointed to say the least. The menu is too restricted & narrow to drop your interesting items off, & I ended up with an incongruent cheeseburger.
The waiter was apologetic - the manager comped us drinks at the end which was appropriate & appreciated.
Our food came unusually quickly & our drink order came after our food.
We felt rushed.
The cheese burger was very good, I particularly liked the 2 patties with bacon & cheese on each layer. The bun was fresh. French Fries were not hot.
My wife had steak frite which was very average. The mashed potatoes were excellent ( but also not hot ).
desserts were 5 stars - the pavlova was a hit.
Note that in summer the restaurant is uncomfortably hot, try to get a seat under a fan or consider sitting on the terrace.
The place has a great vibe & is really trendy. The service was top notch.

Large brasserie with large terrace in a pleasant area. Very French ambiance. Ordered burratas, then steak frites, duck confit, & steak tartare plus wines by the glass. All good quality & service very professional. Ticked the boxes…on a summer's evening.

We have been to Brasserie Bernard twice now & still love the food. The calamari is perfectly seasoned & fried - my absolute favourite. Our friend said that the French onion soup has ruined other ones for him & that it was thick & extremely oniony. The cheese plate is always a crowd pleaser with delicious dried fruits & nuts. For mains, the duck confit is rich & decadent, the moule frites were also delicious.

I have lived in the neighbourhood for 25 years & have been here several times since it opened. Very disappointed this time around. I was entertaining an American friend & they have no English menus. The food was not great & our waiter basically forgot about us & I had to wait 20 minutes to order another glass of wine. The cocktails were not that great either. Maybe if we spoke French, which I do, we would have been served better. Or maybe the restaurant is not that great any more. Certainly not going back & it's off my recommend list.

I must say Bernard Street is going through a small renovation as to some of the restaurants previously there. The one thing I can comfortably say, Brasserie Bernard is still heads above all. I waited to post because we were there twice during a 7 day period. First lets start with the really nice French bistro vibe. The surprise for first my friends & I was a super cute & ultra friendly server Marco. Warm, inviting & honest when asked about suggestions first about wine & then about food. He really made our night. Keep him as you have a professional jewel.
The food is just consistently solid & delicious. Not easy every time.
We had the beef tartare with truffle. My girlfriend who has eaten all over the world has deemed it her favorite tartare. I would agree. We shared the main size as as starter. We could have had more. Incredibly good.
She had the veal ravioli. loved every bite. I had the duck confit.Amazing. Our friends had the salmon tartare to start. Mains were the mussels in the red marinara sauce. As well the steak frites. Happy smiles all around. Great good makes it easy. No room for dessert. When so many restaurants are vying for patrons these guys deserve it. Polished maitre D & of course Marco. He just made this experience just delightful. A must try... Thanks BB

Brasserie Bernard provides a wonderfully cozy & sophisticated French atmosphere. Their steak frites is absolutely phenomenal, featuring perfectly cooked, juicy meat & crispy fries. The service is incredibly prompt & the staff always maintains a very friendly & welcoming attitude.

Great French Brasserie dining experience. I was there with my elderly parents & they were particularly accomodating. Lovely service. Will go back.

Everything was 100% except for the fact that we were sitting way to close to the table on both sides of my wife & I . I could reach over & take a french fry. Besides that it was great.

It was a nice restaurant with great service, they spoke French but also spoke English! The food was great, between all of us, we got to try many of the dishes which were all great as well! Loved it. Thank you Brasserie Bernard!!

Great food, friendly service, wonderful ambience. The menu is varied, but not too large. All of the dishes we tried are well-executed, but some are a bit better than others. The poached salmon was my dish & it was very good, but not outstanding. The steak frites was good, but not quite worth the price. The service was friendly, but a tad slow once the dining room filled up. What was outstanding was the ravioli, the duck, the chicken, & the french onion soup. Dessert was also incredible, with my chocolate pear pavlova being among the best things I have ever ordered at a restaurant. Come to this brasserie for a special occasion & with an empty stomach. You will not be disappointed.
