We were 3 couples & we were trying out the'Happening Gourmand' menu for $49. We were warmly greeted & seated at our table. Our waiter Kenny was excellent. He was efficient & attentive. The decor of the restaurant is very appealing & had former bank vibes. The washrooms need a deep clean & a slight refresh but are well equipped. With the Happening Gourmand menu, you get a choice of soup or salad. One person took the soup & said it was delicious. The rest of us took the spinach salad. It was good but was heavy on the salt. The dressing was yummy. My wife & I took the braised beef cheek & despite the plates arriving covered with stainless steel lids to our table, the food was almost cold. Once again, the beef jus reduction sauce was on the salty side & the beef cheek was on the dry side & not as tender as it should have been both being braised & a cut of beef which is usually very tender. Plating was also ordinary & lacked any creative/artistic appeal. All in all the meal was decent but lacked culinary finesse. The service & decor definitely add to the experience.

Que dire de cette belle Brasserie dans le vieux Montréal, restaurant d'excellence & de qualité, Mélissa au top du début a la fin & souriante, pour les plats le Mythique boeuf bourguignon pour ma compagne, & moi le Hommard Royal ce met delectable , le sabayon très raffiné, une pointe d'orange, je vais m'en souvenir pour un lointain moment

I came to Montreal for the history, the architecture, the culture, & the short track speed skating world championships… but I stayed for the dirty martinis at Brasserie 701.
Enter Shady - bartender, mixology wizard, & the only man I've ever seen shake a cocktail with the quiet confidence of Patrick Mahomes in the fourth quarter. The resemblance is uncanny. If Mahomes ever needs an offseason job, I'm convinced he's already been moonlighting behind this bar.
As a Toronto girl, I take my martinis very seriously. Shady served me two of the most delicious dirty martinis I've ever had with some potent local gin. Perfectly chilled, perfectly salty, & strong enough to make me briefly consider moving to Montreal permanently.

Mahomes doppelganger energy: off the charts.
If you find yourself at Brasserie 701, do yourself a favour: ask Shady for a dirty martini. Just be warned - you'll probably end up ordering a second one. I certainly did. 🍸
Super expérience ! La nourriture était fraîche, bien assaisonnée & les portions sont parfaites. Le service est professionnel & l'ambiance est vraiment agréable pour passer une belle soirée. Je recommande fortement ce restaurant.
On est venues célébrer l'anniversaire de mon amie & nous avons été servies par Paula. Nous avons reçu un excellent service. Elle a été très gentille, attentive & professionnelle tout au long du brunch. Son accueil & son attitude ont vraiment rendu notre expérience encore plus agréable. Nous sommes allés dans ce restaurant pour célébrer l'anniversaire de ma soeur & nous avons passé un très bon moment. La nourriture était délicieuse & l'ambiance très agréable. Notre serveuse, Paula, était super gentille & très attentionnée, ce qui a rendu l'expérience encore meilleure. Je recommande !

Des personnes comme Paula rendent vraiment l'expérience au restaurant encore meilleure. Son service à la clientèle est remarquable & on voit qu'elle se soucie que les clients se sentent bien accueillis.
