Came here with my gf & we loved it. The food was absolutely delicious. We had the Maast-o-Khiar, Saffron Rice, Koobideh kebab, & Barg kebab. Everything was packed with flavour, perfectly cooked, & nicely presented/plated. The Barg kebab was our highlight.
I had the vodka barberry cocktail & my gf had a willow mocktail. Both were very tasty & unique.
The interior decoration is beautiful. Traditional art & rugs mixed with tasteful modern design & dim lighting. Great date environment.
The service really stood out. I am celiac (gluten free). When our main course came out the server apologized for the delay (which wasn't very long) & said that some bread had touched my plate, so it had to be remade. This has happened to me many times before, but usually the server brings it out & I have to ask for it to be remade. Not having to need to ask or watch others eat while my food is being remade was really nice. The server was very polite & also brought a complimentary drink because of the delay. Hopefully this great service continues past the restaurant's first few months!
The only thing that could've been better for me was if there were gluten free options for the dips like corn chips, rice crackers, or bread.
The food, music, ambiance, service & hospitality truly set this place apart. Our group of four ordered a variety of dishes & drinks, & every item exceeded our expectations. Everything was delicious, the service was attentive & friendly, & the overall experience was outstanding. A solid 5/5-highly recommended!
A truly memorable experience at Bous. A beautiful new concept that brings Persian cuisine into a contemporary fine-dining setting. The design is stunning, with incredible attention to every detail, from the plates & tableware to the elegant décor. We loved hearing that some of the furniture was brought from Iran during such a challenging time, making the space even more meaningful.
The hospitality was exceptional. Our host was warm, knowledgeable, & explained every dish with such passion & care that it made us feel proud to see Persian cuisine presented so beautifully. We highly recommend the Sofreh experience, with its shared appetizers & main dishes that create a wonderful connection around the table.
The food, wine selection, atmosphere, & service were all outstanding. Congratulations to the Bous team for creating such a unique & inspiring place in Montreal.🥂✨
I really wanted to love this place because the concept has so much potential. The restaurant is beautifully designed, with a very modern & minimalist aesthetic, & it's clear that a lot of money & effort went into creating a luxurious atmosphere.
However, in my opinion, the design feels disconnected from the essence of Persian dining & hospitality. Persian cuisine is deeply rooted in warmth, tradition, comfort, & a sense of gathering. The sleek, ultra-modern environment may look impressive, but it doesn't create the inviting atmosphere that many people associate with an authentic Persian dining experience.
The same feeling carried over to the food. While the presentation was elegant & the prices reflected a fine-dining experience, the flavors & execution didn't justify the premium cost. The dishes lacked the depth, balance, & craftsmanship I expected at this price point.
It felt as though the focus was placed more on creating a luxury image than on preserving & celebrating the cultural identity that makes Persian cuisine so special. Luxury doesn't come from expensive décor or artistic plating alone-it comes from authenticity, attention to detail, exceptional cooking, & creating an experience that respects the roots of the cuisine.
Overall, I left feeling that the restaurant invested heavily in appearances but overlooked the heart & soul of what makes Persian dining memorable. I hope they continue to refine their concept, because with a stronger connection to the culture & a greater emphasis on the food itself, this place could become something truly exceptional.
Beautiful high end restaurant with amazing Persian food, however service is not up to the standards that the restaurant is trying to convey. The service team needs professional training.
BOUS is truly the place to experience authentic Persian food in a modern, elegant setting. The quality of the ingredients, the depth of flavor, & the attention to detail in every dish are incredible. Every element feels intentional, & each dish tells a story.
The homemade yogurt is unlike anything you find in stores or at most restaurants. It adds richness, balance, & complexity to the meal in such a beautiful way. The kebabs are also exceptional. Unlike many Persian restaurants, they use a charcoal grill, which gives the meat that deep, smoky flavor that kebabs are meant to have. The chicken kebab is hands down the best I've ever had! Tender, juicy, perfectly balanced, & full of flavor.
The kashk-e bademjoon with sangak bread is another standout. It pairs so well together & is absolutely worth ordering.
The stews are also excellent, especially the fesenjoon, which is traditionally made with duck. It's rich, comforting, & deeply flavorful.
The drinks are just as memorable. They're unique, refreshing, & full of character, with each one feeling rooted in Iranian culture.
The desserts are also effortlessly amazing. The faloodeh is so refreshing, with the perfect sweet-&-sour balance, & it's something you simply cannot find at this level of quality just anywhere. Their saffron ice cream sandwich is another must-try. It's made with a traditional ghorabieh cookie, one of my favorite Persian cookies, & the combination works beautifully.
The atmosphere at BOUS is warm, welcoming, chic, & absolutely gorgeous. It feels modern without losing the soul of Persian hospitality. It's refreshing to see Persian food presented with such care & high standards while still honoring its core flavors & identity.
BOUS is doing justice to Persian cuisine in the modern era. It's the perfect place to introduce friends to Persian food, & a restaurant that truly celebrates the beauty, depth, & richness of Iranian culture.
