We were a group of 4, 2 adults & two teenagers. We are Persian but both teenagers have grown up in Canada & very difficult to impress them with Persian food made at home.
Given the above, we all loved every thing we ordered from starters to main course & desserts.
The tastes were elegant as if one is in a dream. My teenage son said this was not normal Persian food, in fact it was'fine Persian food & amazingly delicious'. He asked me to try to improve the dishes I make to be similar to what Bous offered.
The rice was fragrant, the onion marinated in lemon juice & sumac was amazing, meat was tender & juicy, & tasting the bbq'd eggplant with kashk took us to heaven. Last but not the least, was the quality of desserts including the elegantly decorated Persian saffron ice cream, Persian love cakes with rhubarb, & the authentic tea with fragrance of cinnamon & cumin.
I give 5 star to Bous, & would even give more stars if I could push the limit.
Chicken was raw in some parts, vegetables were charcoal burned, dessert was so frozen could not use spoon, & Love cake was hard as a rock. Sorry, I really wanted to like this place. Portions are tiny, its overpriced, nothing tasted WOW, just ok, food was 5 or 6/10. Service & ambience was good.
My husband chose this restaurant to celebrate my birthday, & it was the perfect choice!
From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with such warmth & genuine hospitality. The atmosphere was cozy, welcoming, & made my birthday feel extra special.
The food was absolutely outstanding-fresh, flavorful, beautifully presented, & cooked to perfection. Every dish exceeded our expectations, & every bite was delicious. You can tell that everything is prepared with care & passion.
The highlight of our evening was meeting the owner, Hamed. He is incredibly kind, friendly, & welcoming. He went above & beyond to make us feel at home & made my birthday celebration even more memorable. His passion for his restaurant & his guests truly shines through.
Thank you, Hamed, for making my birthday such a wonderful experience. My husband definitely picked the perfect place! We left with full hearts, full stomachs, & wonderful memories.
We can't wait to come back. We highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for outstanding food, exceptional service, & a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Five stars aren't enough!
Bous is authentic Persian cuisine at its finest. Every dish stays true to its roots while elevating familiar childhood flavors into something truly special.
The cocktails are a must-try, each tells a story. The Sabzeh was incredibly unique & instantly transported me to the fresh aromas of Persian gardens. & don't leave without trying the chocolate cake with Arde Shire dessert, it's a nostalgic Persian classic reimagined with beautiful presentation.
From the warm atmosphere to the outstanding food & creative drinks, Bouse delivers an unforgettable dining experience. Highly recommended!
Bous is a beautiful addition to Montreal's dining scene. The atmosphere & interior design are elegant, warm, & thoughtfully done, making the whole experience feel special from the moment you walk in. The presentation of each dish is stunning & refined, but what I appreciated most is that the food stays true to its Persian roots. It's a modern interpretation of authentic Persian cuisine without losing the traditional flavors.
The attention to detail, from the plating to the ambiance, really stands out. If you're looking for a place that showcases Persian cuisine in a sophisticated yet authentic way, I would definitely recommend Bous.
If you plan to visit this restaurant, make sure to eat something beforehand, because the portion of kebab served (just one small skewer) is half the size of what you get at other restaurants. On top of that, they charge you nearly double what other Iranian restaurants do for the same amount of food! Personally, I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone-at the very least, don't go there for the kebab.
Food was too small, they charge for rice separately, very unorthodox way for offering Persian food. Over charging horribly , & meat was over cooked . Not worth it , do not go !
