Juste la plus grosse dinguerie de Montréal. C'est mon craquage du weekend. J'ai absolument tout goûté ici & je peux vous faire un classement des meilleures choses à acheter :
- Un grand latté (glacé) : Le café de Toledo est très bon, mais je passe une spécial dédicace au latté glacé. Pour moi le meilleur de Montréal. Au moins on pose les bases
- Le sandwich italien : Même s'ils ne performent pas en coupe du monde, il faut bien avouer qu'ils ont du savoir-faire, & ça se ressent. Ce sandwich est un équilibre parfait entre tous les produits italiens dont vous ne pouvez pas vous passer mais qui sont généralement trop chers pour vous. Le sandwich n'est pas donné (11.5$) mais vu ce qu'il y a dedans on lui pardonne. Le pain aussi est très bon, on rappellera qu'on est dans une boulangerie c'est dans leurs compétences.
- Les croissants : ceux de Toledo sont quand même au-dessus du lot. Je dirais pas que c'est les meilleurs de Montréal, mais ils sont sûrement deuxième. Je cherche encore les premiers du classement. Dans le doute on dira quand même que c'est les meilleurs.
- Le gâteau basque : J'en ai pas trouvé beaucoup ici. J'en ai pas cherché non plus, mais celui-ci est venu à moi & il m'a rappelé mon sud-ouest natal. Dans le sud-ouest on est peut-être un peu con, râleurs & on sait pas conduire, mais ça on sait faire. Ça se ressent dans le gâteau & j'ai aimé. Le gâteau basque est catégorisé comme'beurre' sur google, c'est vous dire à quel point c'est bon.
La légende raconte que si vous achetez les 4 produits d'un coup votre journée de télétravail se transforme instantanément en doux rêve paradisiaque.

La boulangerie Le Toledo est, selon moi, la meilleure de Montréal & des environs. Tout y est délicieux : les pâtisseries sont fines, raffinées & vraiment excellentes, & le café est à la fois très bon & varié. Le personnel est accueillant, chaleureux & toujours sympathique.
L'ensemble crée une atmosphère qui donne tout simplement envie d'y revenir chaque jour.

Un incontournable selon moi !!! Produits excellents & personnel super agréable !! Impossible de ne pas s'arrêter pour attraper un café.
Je commande parfois aussi en gros pour ma compagnie & leur service corpo est irréprochable avec un suivi ultra personnalisé.

Le Toledo is a popular bakery on Mont-Royal Avenue, a lively pedestrian street lined with cafés, bakeries, & restaurants. Several locals we met recommended it, & it's easy to see why. The bakery is quite large, with plenty of tables & seating inside, making it a comfortable spot to enjoy your treats on site.
When we visited mid-afternoon, there was a short line, but it moved quickly thanks to the efficient team of staff behind the counter. Everyone was friendly, spoke both French & English, & happily explained the pastries & their ingredients.
Prices are very reasonable: cookies start around $3 CAD, croissants at $2.50 CAD, & pastries like brioche & cinnamon rolls are also available. I ordered a chocolatine (pain au chocolat) for $3.25 CAD & a caramel cream cruffin for $5 CAD. Both were excellent-crispy on the outside, soft & airy on the inside, & full of flavor.
If you're strolling Mont-Royal Avenue, Le Toledo is absolutely worth a stop. Grab a couple pastries to enjoy on the spot or take away-you really can't go wrong here.

Le Toledo has definitely won my heart!
From the first person who attends you when you enter to the person who prepares you a coffee, all of them with a smile.
But if I want to sin, I go for a Gâteau Basque... for God's sake! .. so delicious! .. is the perfect combination. It has just the right sweetness as well as the butter in its dough & a generous amount of filling with pastry cream & almond powder. It is noted that they use elements of the highest quality. I always combine it with a one shot American coffee, a delicious coffee & in this way it does not invade the taste of the gâteau.
But an image is worth more than a thousand words ....

Absolument tout est bon chez Toledo : viennoiseries, pains, cafés, tartes, gâteaux, biscuits, quiches… après des dizaines de visites, je n'ai absolument rien de négatif à dire. Tout est toujours frais. Mon'go to' du quartier (c'est dangereux d'habiter à proximité).

Nice bakery in the Plateau. I was glad to see a lot of locals coming in & out. They certainly are busy. Their workflow reminds me of that at Porto's, the Cuban bakery from Burbank, California. The servers are fast. Come early in the day because they sell out of stuff.
I'm no croissant expert, but the one I had here was better than the one I had at a random cafe the other day. The croissant (CAD$2.50) from Toledo was airy & flaky. I had an iced americano $3.50, & it tasted great as well.
The peach kouign amann $5 was a new thing in August. I enjoyed this the most. It was so dense & not terribly sweet. The focaccia $14 was also really good! It was a large square, & they cut it into two triangles for me. The dough was great. This makes me think their bread must be delicious too. I would try some bread next time.
I bought a package of the vanilla madeleines $6.50, but I didn't really like them. I didn't see other people buying them either, so maybe it's not just me that thinks the madeleines aren't good.
Plenty of seating inside but with non-matching tables & chairs. They have large windows, so the sun makes it hot inside.

From the moment you step inside, the air is thick with the aroma of artisan breads & buttery pastries. The vibe? Think cozy corner bistro with a touch of Montreal joie de vivre. The staff are friendly & efficient, & the space is always buzzing with locals & visitors alike.
Now, let's talk highlights. The chausson aux pommes-oh là là! Generous, flaky, & bursting with apple goodness. It's hands-down the best I've had in Canada, & every bite whisks me back to my student days in France, where pastries were a way of life. Pair it with their espresso, which is robust, smooth, & just the right temperature.
But don't stop at the chausson. The croissants are buttery & crisp, the sourdough is chewy perfection, & the sandwiches (especially the bagnat poulet & ciabatta with tuna) are worthy of a Parisian lunch break. The almond croissant? A must-try.
Le Toledo isn't just a bakery, it's a destination. With its communal tables, free WiFi, & sunlit windows, it's the perfect spot to linger with a book or catch up with friends. Whether you're a Montreal local or just passing through, make sure to arrive early!
Final verdict: If you're looking for a reason to fall in love with Le Plateau all over again, this is it. Trust me, your taste buds will thank you!

My daughters & I visited Montreal for our summer vacation & this is the one place we will miss the most. As croissant & coffee connoisseurs, we all agreed this was the best we've ever had!! We told ourselves that we would force ourselves to try new cafes each day of our 11 day trip but we kept finding ourselves back at Le Toledo every single morning.

Cet endroit est l'un de mes préférés, donc j'hésite à écrire cet avis (je veux toujours avoir de la place pour moi 🥰), mais je suis également ravie de le faire. Tout, vraiment TOUT, est délicieux & tellement frais, de la nourriture au café. Le service est agréable & efficace. J'ai presque toujours été accueillie avec le sourire (& même quand ce n'était pas le cas, ils étaient toujours agréables). Le coin salon est cosy & spacieux. Les immenses fenêtres sont un vrai régal avec toute la lumière qu'elles laissent entrer (surtout en hiver, quand la lumière du jour est limitée). Ils ont un vrai bijou ici.
Je suis désolée de ne pas pouvoir en dire autant de celui de Verdun.
This place is one of my favorites so I'm reluctant to write this review (I want there to always be room for me 🥰) but also happy to write it.
Everything & I mean EV-ERY-THING from the food to the coffee is so delicious & so fresh.
Service is pleasant & efficient. I've almost always been greeted with a smile (& when I wasn't they were still pleasant).
The seating area is cosy/spacious. The huge windows are a treat with all the light they let in (especially in the winter when daylight is so limited)
They've got a real gem here.
Sadly, I can't say the same for the Verdun location.

Super nice bakery in plateau Mont Royal neighbourhood! Like their live ambiance & the great cafe! If you are looking for a healthy meal & not heavy they have some tomato salad with mozzarella cheese ,that was very refreshing is hot summer days, also I really liked the flan de caramel for dessert. Highly recommended!

The café has a cozy, inviting atmosphere that makes it nice spot to relax. The pumpkin latte is rich & full of flavor. Paired with a freshly baked croissant, buttery & light, & a Croissant au Chocolat, it's a simple coffee time . I also picked up a loaf of their sourdough for dinner, & it was absolutely delicious-crispy on the outside & soft on the inside.
