Even compared to Italy it's a tough battle. We went to Sicily for our honeymoon for 10 days & we thought the pasta is better at Bona Fide. Beyond the unbelievable food, the service is just fantastic & the vibe is really nice. One of our absolute favorite restaurants in Montreal.
Bona Fide is some of the best Italian I've had in Montreal! Loved every dish I had, including a delicious tartare with caciocavello, delicata squash, sage agnolotti & duck ragu. They had a mackerel ratatouille special which tasted very homey, but also had expertly cooked crispy skin. Would be well worth another visit to taste other pasta dishes!
Thank you random Reddit guy for the recommendation!
Impeccable experience at Bona Fide. Italian tradition with the magic that makes Montreal restaurants special.
A must try!
Excellent Italian in a small neighborhood spot. Expect a casual vibe, great service & delicious food. Will definitely return.
Excellent italian restaurant. We were a party of four & every single dish we ordered was succulent. We had starters, entrees & desserts, not one miss!!! Cannot recommend it enough. The service was exceptional, friendly, knowledgeable & helpful.
Amazing cozy Italian restaurant, located just off the Metropolitan. Menu is simple but every item is delicious, & is always changing.
We had as appetizers the focaccia, olives all ascolana, & the arancini. The focaccia is life-changing -- soft & tasty on the inside & crusty on the outside. The olives went so perfectly with the focaccia (deep fried & breaded, & stuffed with spicy sausage).
As entrees, we had the pork chop, capunti with mushrroms & truffles, & caramelle with sausage & rapini. EVERYTHING was amazing.
To end the night, it was coffee & Torta della Nonna & Lemon Ricotta cake. What an experience! Absolutely recommend, especially for a cozy romantic dinner.
Truly a great experience from beginning to end. Everything was on point! I will be back soon. Montreal has a new favourite Italian restaurant.
