The host & the staff are super nice & hospitable & want to ensure you have the best time. Their Madrasi dishes are amazing & our favorite are the incredible crispy doses! I love the coconut chutney :) We've come here many times & look forward to trying everything on the menu. A perfect venue to come with family & enjoy authentic Indian food.View more
Absolute perfection. We came on a super busy Friday night & received quick & friendly service! The food was just incredible & cooked with love. We will be back over & over again. Highly recommend the vindaloo & butter chicken!View more
I've eaten a lot of butter chicken in my life & no restaurant has ever come close to beating my mothers. My mother had passed away many years ago & I never learned to cook butter chicken from her & had lost the taste for good, homemade, butter chicken. I went to Bombay Choupati for the first time with some family & I always stick to the basic order of butter chicken because I miss the taste of home. Never in my wildest dreams would I have imagined a place to have such savory, delicious & fragrant butter chicken. Just from the smell, you become hypnotized & the taste was just breathtaking, from the tender chicken to the creamy sauce, I could not find a single imperfection. For the first time in my life, I tasted a butter chicken similar .... scratch that, better than my mothers butter chicken. I haven't stopped going back ever since. A gentle reminder of home.
The staff were super friendly & great. Yes, its a small place & maybe a little cramped but once that food arrives ... I promise you, it is 100% worth the wait.
The food is phenomenal but I probably wouldn’t eat here again. I would definitely do take out though. They don’t take reservations & the wait was over half an hour. Everyone was just crowded together in the tiny entrance constantly trying to shift as people go to pay or people arrive for their pick ups. The restaurant is tiny & tables are close together & the place is super bright, not much ambience. The servers were friendly & when we finally were seated the service was good.
Googled the best Indian restaurants on the West Island & came up with the highest rated: Bombay Choupati. Went to order pick-up. Genually friendly greeting upon arrival. The restaurant was packed for a Wednesday night. Took a little while for the food because it was so busy, but when I got home & tasted the food, it was amazing! Rice was light & fluffy, the curried vegetables delicious & the flavours of the Madras chicken perfectly spiced with just enough heat & light & fluffy naan bread. I had enough food for two meals & looked forward to my second helping tonight. All in all very delicious food at a modest price. I'll be back. That's a definite! Kudos to the chefs & owners.
Great restaurant! It was our 1st visit & it won't be the last! Food was fresh & delicious. We could see the spotless kitchen. Our host & hostess were more than nice; they were dynamic, attentive & were able to propose different plates that were divine! We live in HOMA, so we ordered more for home; they took care of seperating a couple of ingredients to make sure it didn't get ''mooshy''. WOW, impressed. We live far but they are so worth it! We'll come back with the kids! Thank you Bombay Choupati!
The food was amazing & so was the service.
We had the Masala dosa to share as an appetizer, then the goat Madras, Aloo Goobi, rice, tandoori naan, & butter chicken. It was the best Indian food I've had not in India. Delicious. We even had leftovers we got to enjoy at home for lunch.
All the positive reviews are right ON THE MONEY. This is now my all time Indian restaurant of choice. The patrons are very honest & beautiful people that know authentic Indian cuisine. You will not be disappointed.
The best indian restaurant in Montreal! The food is way too effin good & their prices not bad at all. I like to go there at least once a month to get my butter chicken fix :)
By far the best indian restaurant in Montreal (so far!). Food is really authentic, with distinct fresh flavours & not your typical fad dishes. There are some dishes that i had never had, e.g. papri chat. So.. some true discoveries to be had.
It is not a very big place but they are very accomodating. Waiter is lovely, despite being rushed off his feet. Cooks also pop their faces out at times & are lovely & smiley too. You can tell this is fresh home-made food with love. Will definitely go again & try the rest.
My friend & I dined at Bombay Choupati for the first time & we were blown away. The food was absolutely delicious!!! It was the best Indian food I've ever had. I can't believe that I haven't tried this restaurant sooner. To top it off, the service was impeccable, & I am very picky when it comes to customer service.
I ordered the curry goat dinner combo (the meat can be chicken or goat). It comes with vegetable curry, rice & naan bread. My friend ordered the same combo with butter chicken, & we shared a Masala dosa. EVERYTHING was amazing!!! I don't even know how to describe it, you just have to try it!!
In conclusion, with the extraordinary food, the wonderful service, the nice & cozy ambiance & the reasonable prices, Bombay Choupati has been added to my favorite restaurants list & I will surely become a regular patron!
I've been going to Bombay Choupati for a number of years now, never disappointed.
Food is always on point, you can't find indian food like this in the west island (I tried). It's always cheap, we can eat until we're in a coma for 40$ & still have leftovers for lunch the next day.
It's a pretty small place, so if you show up a little before or after dinner time, you shouldn't have to wait for a table.
The staff is very friendly generally. (with a few exceptions, but we still go because the food is amazing)
When you walk into an indian place, & indian people are eating there, you know it's legit, just sayin'
The best Indian restaurant i have ever been too. The food is delicious. We ordered 3 different dishes & they were all great. The goat meat was melting in my mouth, the Dosa was amazing & perfect amount of spices. While the food is amazing, the service was the best as well; super friendly atmosphere. I cannot say enough how good it all is.
The only downside is that they have a small space & so if you don’t go early enough, you might have to wait in line. But the wait worth it :)
I found this restaurant through Urban Spoon because we were running errands in that area, & got hungry. Checked out what was in the area & found this restaurant with its good reviews. Love Indian, but am always skeptical of 'planted' reviews, so we went in not expecting it to live up to the good reviews. BUT - it was truly fantastic. Had Masala Dosa, which I'd never tried before - amazing. Won't bother with samosas anymore... this was much more delicious, delicate & fresh. Butter chicken was super. Prices were really great, & the plates allowed us to have a variety of items (butter chicken, vegetable curry, naan, rice - all delicious) for less than I would spend on the main item in other restaurants. Service was really pleasant (must admit we lucked out because we got there in the mid-afternoon, so restaurant was empty when we arrived, filling up as we left) - very nice gentleman served us. So all in all an awesome discovery. Definitely recommending to friends.
