Wonderful to see the restaurant fully booked.Memories of cheapy Thursday when you had to have a reservation by Tuesday.Sad to see the difference since it was owned & run by Signy & Michel.Nice catching up with Liam

Stopped here for an overnight on our way back from Quebec city. Hotel is very clean & well-kept owner & staff are very friendly. Yes, they speak English very well. Reason for picking this location as it was the location for Louise penny's three Pines book & novel. The Town in Self is worth the visit alone such a cute little town in the eastern province of Quebec.
Il y aurait avantage à proposer de plus petites entrées au repas du soir, comme une soupe du jour aux légumes. Le plat de moules manquait de saveur mais le plat de pâtes était très bon.
Au petit-déjeuner, les oeufs à la mexicaine étaient décevants car ça ne ressemblait pas à une recette traditionnelle. Les cafés au lait étaient très bons.
We were sadly very disappointed with our food this past weekend. We have been coming to Le Relais for nearly 15 years, & this is the first time that we have noticed a sharp decline in the quality of the food. The chicken wings we ordered as a starter were very overcooked & difficult to eat. The Relais burger shrank to nearly half the size, & the "salad" was three or four pieces of lettuce in a vinaigrette. The presentation has also changed for the worse (gone is the wooden board & flavoured aioli & garnish). The fries changed as well & had no salt & were very crunchy & lacking any type of spices. The rigatoni was very overcooked to the point of being inedible (trying to pick one up with a fork caused it to break apart & disintegrate). We were not served any bread to start, but the mi-cuit was pretty good. We are very disappointed, as Le Relais is usually the highlight of our stay in Knowlton.
Une des meilleures soupes à l'oignon depuis longtemps. Auberge rustique, accueil & service sympathiques, plats de qualité (excellentes crevettes croustillantes). Une bonne adresse.
A quaint but charming hotel on the 2nd & 3rd floors of a hotel originally built in the 1870s. The hallway floorboards were foot-wide pine! Be prepared to walk upstairs because there's no elevator. It sure gave me a sense of accomplishment! Other than that, the place is impeccably clean & quiet. We didn't eat in the restaurant but there are great options in the neighbourhood.
Bon vin, bon plat mais choix restreint pour les plats fins. Ambiance un peu bruyante car pas de revêtement absorbant le bruit ni au plafond ni sur les murs.

Après plus de 40 minutes à attendre avant qu'un employé vienne nous voir après avoir fait des signaux de boucanne. Le service n'était pas à la hauteur du prix demandé. Cet étape de notre voyage fut la plus décevante.
La portion de canard de mon épouse était trop petite par rapport à la mienne.
