Review Summary

Reviews describe Bistro Le Relais as delivering a standout dining experience with dishes praised for flavor and overall quality, attentive service, and a pleasant atmosphere, sometimes accompanied by enjoyable music on certain nights. Lodging aspects associated with the property are noted as mixed: parking at the rear can be challenging, reception coverage can be spotty, and check in may not fully explain room benefits; rooms themselves are described as aging but charming, with a sagging mattress and limited sound insulation, and some stays report no daily housekeeping and breakfast not included despite listings. The location is heralded for its central, historic setting with terraces and convenient access to cafes, shops, and outdoor trails on foot or by bike, and free rear parking is appreciated by guests. Taken together, the experience blends a strong restaurant draw with a quaint but aging accommodation that may require patience and flexibility from visitors.

Disapointed by the duck. We had discovered the Relais for it's delicious duck meals. This was disapointing to say the least. The duck we ordered was expensive, a bit dry & a minuscule portion.
We also remembered the decadent dessert of the relais of the past but instead we were met with a 12$!!!!!! Piece of carot cheesecake. Very underwhealming for the price & compared to what the peanut butter icecream pie that has once been. Maybe change the name if nothing of the original restaurant is going to be conserved...
We were greated by a grumpy looking waitress that seemed complicated to find us a good spot in an empty restaurant.

We has loved the original restaurant & wish we hadn't ruined the souvenir of it by revisiting

This is a special restaurant for us with the best duck dishes in the province.

Our meals were poutine with duck, cod with rice & vegetables, duck confit, steak salad. Every one of them was delicious & suited us each for our preferences that evening. The duck confit as pronounced "best ever," the poutine perfect & the cod light & flavorful, the steak cooked perfectly. We shared a maple pie, & it was amazing. Our server was so nice & accommodating & we appreciated her attention & patience.

We went to rRelais Bistro Because it is refuted to be the inspiration by Gabi & Olivier's bistro in Louise Penny books. The exterior looks right. The interior has no comfortable faded arm chairs. We made a reservation the day before. When we arrived there was no one else there so we were going to select a table near the fireplace But we were told all the tables in the main room were reserved. The proprietress eventually let us sit in the main room but she made us feel unwelcome. The waitress was very nice & the duck comfit was very good. Don't expect a warm welcoming.

great service , great food & nice ambiance . But I think it's more than time to change the frenchfries oil, they were awfully dark & tasted like old oil. The mussells were delicious so was the duck confit ( even if a bit small) .
