We stayed at the Auberge Knowlton in early November & thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this quaint hotel. We arrived after 5 pm & made our way upstairs (the hotel is above the Le Relais restaurant & a boutique) to find a welcome letter together with our room key.
As we entered our Junior Suite, there was a charming living room with sofa, TV, small fridge & wardrobe. The washroom had everything we needed & the bedroom was down a small hallway. The queen size bed was very comfortable.
Coffee is readily available in a central area. We had no issues walking the 20 feet to the lovely dining/games/sitting room to make a coffee or two.
The hotel is centrally located with loads of choices for cafes, book stores, restaurants. If you're a fan of Louise Penny's books, Café Three Pines & Brome Lake Books is right around the corner. But, don't just go there, this is a lovely community worthy of a stroll or two.
This an old historical building so our room reflected the age. We did not get room service & our room was not serviced on our two day stay so I can't really comment. The associated restaurent served very good food with efficient service albeit very casual. Location is dead centre of the little town of Knowlton.
Quel accueil formidable dans un site merveilleux. Vous ne pourrez pas manquer de vous arrêter à l'auberge knowlton pour y manger ou pour y dormir. La bâtisse de l'hôtel est très intéressante avec ses terrasses devant & derrière. Gabriel vous reçoit ici mieux qu'à la maison. Vous vous trouverez chez vous avec en plus toute une équipe accueillante & souriante.
C'est sans compter une région exceptionnelle à explorer à pied ou à vélo sur une ancienne voie de chemin de fer en bord de lac transformée en sentier vélo & piéton.
Authentic Lac Brome Auberge with great charme & a warm welcome from Gabriel. We are hugely grateful for his generous welcome on arrival, making us feel at home & for his help throughout our stay in this wonderful place in the very center of Knowlton & walking distance to the lake. Le charme absolue de Quebec! We will definitely be back! Merci Gabriel & team.
We were sadly very disappointed with our food this past weekend. We have been coming to Le Relais for nearly 15 years, & this is the first time that we have noticed a sharp decline in the quality of the food. The chicken wings we ordered as a starter were very overcooked & difficult to eat. The Relais burger shrank to nearly half the size, & the "salad" was three or four pieces of lettuce in a vinaigrette. The presentation has also changed for the worse (gone is the wooden board & flavoured aioli & garnish). The fries changed as well & had no salt & were very crunchy & lacking any type of spices. The rigatoni was very overcooked to the point of being inedible (trying to pick one up with a fork caused it to break apart & disintegrate). We were not served any bread to start, but the mi-cuit was pretty good. We are very disappointed, as Le Relais is usually the highlight of our stay in Knowlton.

Though the menu was mid change, we had a great selection to choose from. Service was great & our server (Liam) had a great sense of humour.
A definite must try if you find yourself in Knowlton
Nothing negative to report. The interior & relaxed ambiance is welcoming & comfortable. The hospitality & service, menu & food, are invitations for repeated visits. While in Knowlton, a meal at Le Relais Restaurant Bistro should not be missed.
We were there on a Friday evening & they were quite busy, yet the staff was still very accommodating & efficient. Our meals were promptly delivered & the food was excellent. I liked the atmosphere & decor. Prices were reasonable. I definitely recommend this restaurant if you are in Knowlton.
