Bistro La Franquette offre une expérience globale chaleureuse et conviviale avec une cuisine française bien exécutée, où des plats comme le hanger steak et les frites ou l'onglet de boeuf sont cuits à la perfection et accompagnés de portions généreuses et d'un vin bien choisi. Le service est généralement attentif et courtois, même si le rythme peut parfois paraître expéditif et que certains plats arrivent en vitesse. L'ambiance est cosy et intime, le décor et l'éclairage contribuant à une atmosphère agréable, idéale pour un rendez-vous ou une soirée entre amis. Le rapport qualité prix est souvent salué et la carte, bien que parfois réduite, permet de revenir régulièrement sans se lasser. Dans l'ensemble, les expériences décrites évoquent une adresse fiable et chaleureuse où la qualité des plats et l'attention du service font souvent la différence.
I went with a big group of friends & we all had a fantastic experience. The restaurant atmosphere was intimate & chic. The service was top tier. Everything we ate was delicious & the wine was the perfect compliment. I look forward to going again next time I'm in Montreal!
Bistro La Franquette has a really nice atmosphere - cozy, lively, & a great spot for a night out. The food was excellent. I had the hanger steak with fries & red wine reduction sauce, & it was outstanding. Perfectly cooked, full of flavour, & the fries were some of the best I've ever had.
The oyster special is also a must - fresh & a great add-on to the meal.
A couple of small notes: the music could have been a bit louder to really match the energy of the room, & the drink experience wasn't quite at the same level as the food. Our waiter could have taken a bit more time to explain the drink options, & the margarita we ordered wasn't our favourite.
That said, the food & overall vibe more than make up for it, & I would absolutely go back.

Stopped by this bistro while in Westmount & was so pleasantly surprised with the delicious food, drinks & amazing service. We had the best burger I've ever had in Montreal!!! Tried the cocktail du jour & it was balanced & tasty, & continued with some wine from their impressive wine list. What a hidden gem.
Also.. the decor is beautiful (even the bathrooms!) & it's a perfect space to spend an evening.
Shoutout to Chef Louie & Renée for their hospitality! Can't wait to go back 🤩
10 out of 10!! The service, the food, the wine & the cocktails - everything was perfect! I really had no expectations going to La Franquette & now it's one of my favorite restaurants in Montreal! Love the cozy atmosphere too.

First of all Jenny's service was 10/10, very knowledgeable & familiar she was much appreciated. The halloumi & rigatoni were some of the best dishes I've ever had, & the wine recommended to us was perfect. All at a very reasonable price, I'll be back soon.
Had a great experience at bistro La Franquette! Wine & food were fantastic. The homemade sourdough bread had a nice butter & flaky salt that balanced out the sweet caramelized Halloumi cheese, they were a perfect combo. & thank you to Coco for recommending the Gemelli pasta!!! Will be back:)
Truly an underrated spot in the city, the food is phenomenal, the wine selection is great, the cocktails are delicious & the service is amazing! Happy to come back here whenever I can 🙌🏻❤️ don't miss out on their special collabs or their burger night.
Dinner with the family was fantastic. All the menu items with frites are to be sampled. Broad wine list with helpful staff that know there stuff. Service was spot on. Hanger steak is the best I have had. Order plates & share with the table is the best way to enjoy. The ambience is perfect for an evening with family or friends. A truly great eating experience.

Thank you to Renee, Louie & the whole team. We could not have been happier with our experience. The food, the service & the wine were all top notch. Every dish was perfectly executed. Such a beautiful restaurant too. Cannot wait to go back!
Louie is so talented! The steak & pasta & chicken liver mousse (I can go on) is the best in Montreal (full honest). Wine gal Renee is very knowledgeable-listen to her! I love this place so much- I go all the time. So much heart & hard working folks. Can't wait till my next visit!
Finally making a point of adding this review after countless meals that were absolutely superb. Louie & Renee know exactly what they're doing & they do it so well. If you are looking for an unpretentious vibe with great music, where you will simultaneously be blown away by unique & truly delicious food - Franquette is your answer. Gorgeous wine choices, insane desserts, & a menu that has never once let me down! That's why I keep going back.
