Très déçu, j'avais regardé le menu sur le site web avant d'y aller on pouvait lire pour le menu du diner'Sandwich du jour + soupe du jour = 25$' Sur place, dans le menu qu'on m'a présenté tout était à la carte, la sandwich était 19$ & la soupe 13$. Rien de plus insultant pour un client que de constater que le site web d'un restaurant n'est pas à jour. De la fausse représentation. J'ai téléphoné pour me plaindre de la situation & on m'a répondu qu'il n'y avait rein à faire. Pas fort!
Was able to get a reservation for bar seating a few weeks ahead. Such an amazing experience. Food & drinks were the best. The bartender helped us choose the right wines to go with our meal. I will definitely come back when I'm back in Montreal

Best cheeseburger I have had so far - & I have had a few (LOL!) Small & quaint. Lively atmosphere, but not loud & rowdy. We were a party of 4 for a birthday & it was perfect.
Nous sommes allés mangés la bas un samedi soir & j'avais regardé à l'avance le menu ce qui m'avait décidé à aller manger dans ce restaurant. & la suprise en arrivant on nous indique que seulement 2 plats du menu sur les 6 sont disponibles : Soit du boeuf cuit (Bavette) ou du boeuf en tartare. Je peux comprendre qu'un plat ne soit plus disponible mais 4/6 c'est du jamais vu. Pas un mot du propriétaire, juste une serveuse qui à fait de son mieux pour sauver la situation. Comment prendre les clients pour des pigeons, je n'y retournerai pas.
From the moment we arrived until the end of the evening, the service was exceptional: polished, attentive, & genuinely warm without ever feeling overdone. Every course, from the cocktails through dessert, reflected care & precision. The food was fresh, flavorful, & beautifully presented, with each dish arriving at a thoughtful, well-paced rhythm.
What elevated the experience even further was the staff. The service struck that rare balance between professionalism & familiarity, as though you were being looked after by someone who knew exactly how to make the evening memorable. Their recommendations for pairings & accompaniments were confident, informed, & spot-on.
This is not simply a restaurant worth visiting; it is one worth seeking out. It delivers the kind of experience that easily inspires enthusiastic word-of-mouth, & everyone I have recommended it to has come away with the same impression. A truly outstanding dining destination. Five-plus stars.
Everything was perfection , our server, nose ring with an Irish accent was so lovely. Their energy was so warm loving & attentive . The kind of loving energy you receive from your grandmother . Just made the evening that much more memorable. Thanks again & looking forward to our next visit. 💕💕💕
Une des meilleures expériences de restauration de depuis un certain temps. Après avoir eu beosin d'attendre debout un certain temps parce que la table avant nous avait débordé leur heure de réservation, la maison nous a offert nos premiers verres.
Nous avons reçu ensuite des cadeaux de la cuisine à presque chaque services.
Un service attentionné & courtois, dans les règles de l'art. Définitivement plus que ce dont je m'attendais d'un bistro.
La nourriture était top! Effectivement, le steak frite vaut le détour!
Probablement le meilleur vu le prix sur l'île. Cuisson parfaite, juste ce qu'il faut de mâche & une tendreté idéale, saveur exceptionnelle & les frites...perfection.
Tout le reste était on point, portions généreuses, saveurs élégantes & exécutions au poil.
Niveau ambiance du resto, encore là on s'y sent bien. Cuir, lumière tamisé, musique de bistro un peu étrange & température confortable.
Seul bémol, pas d'espresso!

Quaint spot with a small menu, very reasonably priced. Service was excellent. Braised leek with curry & the fried in-house made halloumi was great to start; the mains were well portioned. Perfect for a date night - will return!
Great neighbourhood restaurant, food is always delicious & consistent. Service is good. Vibe is great. Overall, love this place, keep up the great hospitality!

Un repas du vendredi soir devrait être relaxant..là au bout de 1h00 top chrono tout était terminè, de l'arrivée au départ.Comment se sentir accueilli comme' un chien dans un jeu de quilles'.Dommage:(
I went with a big group of friends & we all had a fantastic experience. The restaurant atmosphere was intimate & chic. The service was top tier. Everything we ate was delicious & the wine was the perfect compliment. I look forward to going again next time I'm in Montreal!
Bistro La Franquette has a really nice atmosphere - cozy, lively, & a great spot for a night out. The food was excellent. I had the hanger steak with fries & red wine reduction sauce, & it was outstanding. Perfectly cooked, full of flavour, & the fries were some of the best I've ever had.
The oyster special is also a must - fresh & a great add-on to the meal.
A couple of small notes: the music could have been a bit louder to really match the energy of the room, & the drink experience wasn't quite at the same level as the food. Our waiter could have taken a bit more time to explain the drink options, & the margarita we ordered wasn't our favourite.
That said, the food & overall vibe more than make up for it, & I would absolutely go back.
Went out as a group of four for a buddy's birthday & we all ended up ordering the same two things the Franquette burger & the hanger steak with fries. Both were excellent. The steak had great flavour & the burgers were spot on. Only note I really wish they would switch the fries over to beef tallow or duck fat instead of that standard canola seed oil. Would take them from good to outstanding.
The French onion soup was tasty but could use a bit more soup & a bit less bread which is an easy fix.
We found a really nice Nebbiolo on the list for 95 dollars & ended up drinking the last two bottles they had. Solid value.
The vibe of the place is great warm lively not pretentious. & our waitress was a character in the best way possible. Anyone who wears shorts when it is 25 degrees outside automatically gets respect. Cool attitude & genuinely good service.
Overall really good spot. I would definitely go back.
Bistro la Franquette is my favourite restaurant in Montreal. The onglet de boeuf is the best steak you'll get in Montreal, much better than any other'fancy' steakhouse. The staff is amazing, & they'll make your experience unforgettable. Couldn't recommend enough!
