My friend had the Benedict with the duck eggs, which she found a little basic & needed salt. The éclatante ginger tea was good. The tarte tatin was a nice finish that we shared. Presentation was nice across the board. Service was friendly & pleasant.
They use fresh seasonal local food. The atmosphere was very warm & friendly. We went there for brunch & ordered two mocktail, a beef tartare & two Benedict eggs Focaccia. By splitting the bill it cost around $54 per person, the food quality made me feel like paying this much. Will definitely come back for dinner menu.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Billy J'ai Faim is an absolute gem on St-Denis in Montreal! The atmosphere is cozy & the food is exceptional. We ordered the 📌Croissant au Jambon, which was simple yet incredibly delicious. The buttery croissant paired perfectly with the savory ham. The highlight of the meal was the 📌Duck Egg Benedict, it's my absolute favorite!!! The duck egg was magical, with its creamy, fresh flavor, & it paired beautifully with the perfectly toasted bread. We also tried the 📌Potato Dauphine, which was a delight. The way the potato & cream melt in your mouth is just divine. Overall, an amazing dining experience!
We tried the brunch. The food came ver fast. The taste of the food was fine but the food was cold. We got eggs Benedict. The eggs, bread, shrimps, & corns were cold. Really surprised. We ordered cappuccino, but it didn't look or taste like a cappuccino, more like a café au lait. Very liquid & milky. I liked the cups & dishes.
I had the Heirloom tomatoes & mozza croque with a duck egg & my friend had the Matane shrimp club sandwich & a side salad. I also opted for the gourmand coffee with the little desserts & loved the delicious variety. We both loved our meals. The portions were prefect & the freshness really comes through. I also appreciate that we were not rushed after the meal & able to linger over coffee. I'm already planning for when I will go back!
The duck egg omelette with mushrooms were divine, while my friend's duck egg benedict looked scrumptious. Portions were generous for the price. I mistakenly ordered the potato dauphine (which were essentially large taters), thinking it was dauphinois (cheese + cream gratin galore). They were requisite crispy, just not what I was wanting in mind...my bad. Would definitely come back to try their sunchoke dish & chicken + waffles.
The waitress who greeted me accommodated me even though it was a busy brunch Saturday session, I was alone so she could just put me in a small table - so thank you for that!
The eggs Benedict I had was scrumptious- every produce was home made & made with love, & it shows!
Highly recommend this place if you ever come visit in Montreal - beautiful neighbourhood too
