About

Biiru operates as a distinctive Japanese bistro focusing on an approachable fusion of traditional techniques and modern casual culinary styles. The menu highlights shareable plates including crispy gyoza, karaage, and seasoned skewers that pair directly with a selection of Japanese beers and sake. A compact interior creates an intimate atmosphere defined by minimalist wood accents and wall-mounted art that mirrors contemporary urban Japanese aesthetics. Diners find a consistent emphasis on bold umami flavors rather than complex experimental preparation methods. Small table arrangements facilitate social interactions while maintaining an efficient pace throughout the service duration. This establishment maintains a functional layout that prioritizes high turnover and accessibility for patrons seeking recognizable regional staples. The culinary focus remains steadfast on providing reliable textures and authentic ingredient profiles within an uncomplicated, fast-paced environment suited for casual groups.

okonomiyaki was undercooked, agedashi tofu was too firm, music was too loud. $40 lunch & I'm not full? thankfully the service was decent. I don't recommend it.

Such a fun little tucked away izakaya right in downtown Montreal. Highly recommend the food & drinks both, & the service was great.

Our first visit tothis restaurant, it was a great time. Our server Mike recommended the Sampler which consists of the chicken karage, salmon tarta, pork gyoza, fish with caramel, cold noodles topped with seaweed & to finish the pork ribs. All were super tasty & well presented. We also had the Yuzu beer absolutely delicious. Our server Mike is so pleasant & personable he made our meal very enjoyable. On our next visit to Montreal we will absolutely go again!

I went to Biiru with a large group of friends (over 15 people) & we had the loveliest dinner, with amazing service, waiters that were eager to help & accommodate any food restrictions & an overall impeccable vibe!

I would recommend the okonomiyaki to anyone who wants the best Japanese pancake they've ever had - truly delicious, & I couldn't get enough of it!! Will definitely be coming back to Biiru for that dish alone.

Also, special thanks to Juliana, who was an extraordinary waiter & really went out of her way to make this a great evening for everyone in our group. Her drinks were wonderful . She was kind, always smiling, super quick on her feet & just an overall ray of energy. Definitely a highlight of the dinner!

Our first visit to Biiru was absolutely fantastic, thanks to Jessica being so welcoming & friendly! She took the time to introduce us to the menu despite a busy saturday night, & thoughtfully recommended dishes. Her enthusiasm & knowledge made our experience even more enjoyable. The food was delicious, Kaarage was a little bit salty for me but the atmosphere was perfect for a relaxed evening out.
