had: cheese roll, falafel, hommos hab el labban, mouttabal, yalangy, salad arugula with halloum, frikkeh & mozzat. take out, 130 CAD on a positive note, the mouttabal was fine. but, i would not be surprised if it turned out the falafel were made from store bought mix (more on that later). very dry, no crunch on outside, none of the qualities of an elite falafel. the hab el labban was forgettable, which is maybe a high point here. 90+% of the volume of the arugula salad with halum was indeed just a dump of arugula, which, fair, is true to the name, but its also a 20$+ salad so id expect something more inspired. the "gourmet" menu section frikkeh was easily the weakest dish of the bunch. overcooked, hardly seasoned grain whose consistency & lack of flavor resembled that of oatmeal. seasoning aside, the meat was... acceptable? but really nothing special either, i again here have doubts about its supposed "gourmet" nature. this was such a thoroughly bland meal. i was excited to try this because some reviewers claim this is competitive with a certain other famous or infamous syrian restaurant in montreal. whatever you think of the "value" of the latter, i cant help but think such reviews were produced under the sway of some ideology; these two are _not even playing the same sport._ the thing that really got me was the pita thrown into our takeout order, pictured below. this is a microcosm of my whole beroya experience. to present (& charge) as a middle eastern locale on the finer side & not have enough pride in the craft to bake your own is wild to me. at least if you're going to use pita from the grocery, throw it on the grill & in another bag or something, you might fool some clients. come on yallVoir plus

Honestly I hate to put a negative review on such a nice place, but it's aggravating to pay 200CAD+ for two people & not get anything special out of it. My husband & I went for the iftar menu, & honestly it's tooooooooo overpriced for the portions - you get a SCOOP, one scoop of lentil soup, seriously? In comparison to lylac which also has a nice atmosphere & the EXACT same food, you get DOUBLE the portion there (lentil soup, mezze, etc) for half the money paid & they both taste amazing For clarity, the taste is amazing, except for the filet mignon kababs they were chewy. The service is also very good, but to pay this much for normal Syrian food is too much honestly with no live entertainment or anything special to make it this expensive is not worth it - no added value whatsoever. Not repeating unfortunately.Voir plus

Nestled in the heart of Laval lies a culinary gem that never fails to impress-Beroya Restaurant. From the moment you step foot into this cozy eatery, you're transported on a sensory journey through the vibrant flavors of Lebanese & Syrian cuisine. Recently, I had the pleasure of treating my twin daughters to dinner at Beroya, & from the onset, I knew it was going to be an exceptional experience. Having frequented this establishment before, I was already familiar with the high standard of their fare, but this visit surpassed all expectations. Our meal commenced with an array of appetizers that set the tone for the culinary delight that followed. The tabouleh, a quintessential Levantine salad, transported me back to my childhood with its fresh, herbaceous flavors that mirrored those of my mother's recipe. Accompanying it was the hummus-a true test of authenticity-& I was delighted to find it surpassed my expectations, evoking memories of dinners enjoyed in Lebanon itself. But the delights didn't stop there. We indulged in an assortment of mezze, including perfectly crispy fries, decadent cheese rolls, & an array of other tantalizing dishes that tantalized our taste buds & left us eager for more. For our main course, we opted for the succulent kafta kabob & arayes, & we were not disappointed. The kabobs, bursting with juices & flavor, were grilled to perfection, showcasing the culinary mastery of the chefs at Beroya. Each bite was a symphony of taste, further enhancing our dining experience. Yet, what truly sets Beroya apart is not only the outstanding quality of its cuisine but also the impeccable service & ambiance. From the warm welcome we received upon arrival to the attentive care of the staff throughout our meal, every detail was meticulously attended to, ensuring a memorable dining experience from start to finish. As we savored our final bites & reluctantly bid farewell to Beroya, we couldn't help but reflect on an exceptional evening we had just experienced. If you find yourself in Laval & craving authentic Lebanese cuisine, do not hesitate to visit Beroya. With its tantalizing blend of Lebanese & Syrian flavors, it's a culinary journey that's not to be missed. Trust me, you won't be disappointed.Voir plus
