Bernie's Pizza Martini Bar what can I say.. The West-Island needed a spot like this. Cool atmosphere, unpretentious vibe, straightforward menu, good food & drinks & excellent friendly service. I would recommend reserving if you want to be guaranteed a table as this place was still full past 10pm.
J'ai été chez Bernies pour la première fois & je n'ai pas été déçue. Les meilleurs calmars frits que j'ai mangé depuis longtemps & que dire de leur pizza. L'ambiance est chaleureuse, on se croirait au centre-ville! Je recommande 100% & je reviendrai c'est certain !

My friend & I showed up without a reservation & they could accommodate a spot at the bar & at first we were a little skeptical, but we were extremely comfortable in those seats & the bartenders were amazing & the service was remarkable. I would recommend sitting at the bar & watching them make a multitude of lovely martinis. The food was also amazing & piping hot. It was an overall amazing experience.
SUPER YUMMY! Our waiter was Anthony & he was amazing. I have gluten restrictions & he made me feel confident in the food I was ordering & catered to my restrictions impeccably. He also answered every question we had with confidence & if he wasn't sure, he asked. The gluten free crust on the pizza is also divine & don't get me started on their dirty martinis, WOW!! Overall a very good experience with my husband & we deemed it an amazing first date spot. Definitely recommend Anthony as a waiter & get a dirty martini😋

What an incredible Monday night discovery in the West Island. Bernie's Martini & Pizza delivered a fantastic experience from start to finish. We kicked things off with a round of great drinks - a crisp Peroni beer, a rich & velvety chocolate martini, a smooth Chardonnay, & a very dirty gin soda that hit all the right notes.
The appetizers set the tone: perfectly seasoned meatballs, tender calamari, & a fresh, classic Caesar salad. Simple dishes, done exceptionally well.
Then came the pizzas… & let's just say our eyes definitely didn't listen to our bellies. We were warned not to order two - but we did anyway. The portions were huge, the crusts were perfect, & every bite was worth the challenge. Worth noting: the pizza isn't Neapolitan style - it's its own generous, hearty style - but still absolutely delicious.
The ambience was surprisingly lively for a Monday night. Warm, welcoming, & exactly the kind of spot the West Island has been needing. It felt great to have this style of restaurant right here in DDO.
Highly recommend Bernie's for anyone looking for great food, great drinks, & a great night out. I'm already looking forward to the next visit!
Very good food, drinks & service. We were a group of 5, served quickly. Wait staff were very nice & very attentive. Excellent menu selections for drinks, appies & main courses (especially pizzas). I will be going back & needless to say I recommend this place.
Went last night for my birthday & had an amazing time! We were a group of 13 so they gave us a set menu which was an insane amount of food especially for the price. Everything was delicious & the service was great & very quick! Would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking to celebrate a special occasion or a good place to eat in the West Island.

Met some friends for dinner. We were warmly greeted by the hostess & told our table was being cleaned. We were then led to our table with a smile. The place was full & is quite loud but expected for the average age group of the clientele. Our waitress Paige was excellent. Friendly & just engaging enough. Our friends got their appetizer 10 minutes before we got ours & they were kind enough to wait for ours to arrive. Not sure why they didn't come out together so a small hiccup. We ordered the ribs as a starter & they were excellent. Very tender & flavourful. The sauce reminded me of Tony Romas. Then for dinner we shared a Caesar salad & an all dressed pizza. I loved how the salad was prepared with chunks of lettuce. What I didn't like was almost no croutons & the dressing had a bit too much mayo & no anchovies which definitely affected the taste. Overall a decent salad. The pizza is quite large & was very good but found it too salty. I think that the pepperoni may have been the culprit. All in all an enjoyable meal & recommended.
I decided to plan my birthday here for 14 people a few weeks in advance, as normal things happen a few people had to cancel, not only did they text me to confirm my reservation, the morning of my reservation they texted me asking how many people were going to be coming to this reservation. They were very accommodating & polite considering how busy the restaurant always is. Outstanding service, food, atmosphere & employees. I would HIGHLY recommend this restaurant.
Gluten free be forewarned: box does not indicate size of pizza.
After ordering a gluten free Hot Pep pizza & a Cesar salad for pickup, we were impressed by the size of the box upon receiving it.
Once we arrived home & opened the box we were surprised & disappointed to say the least. I understand that gluten free crust is normally smaller due to it being harder to make & needs to be frozen, but the misleading box size left a sour taste in our mouths… pun intended.
Charging extra for gluten free is also standard across restaurants but I can't help but feel overcharged a bit when the pizza was close to $45 for what it was. Especially since you're saving a substantial amount of produce just from how small it is.
If we are to put that behind us & focus solely on flavour, it was good, but nothing to write home about. The sauce was nice, on the sweeter side, & the cheese was normal. The pepperoni were not cooked through enough to where they made the'cup'. The peperoncino & hot honey were very sparse for a Hot Pep pizza.
It was not bad by any means, we were just hoping for more.
The Cesar salad was lacklustre, completely average iceberg lettuce & dressing. Nothing special about it to make it their own. Once again, fine but nothing to write home about.
One extreme positive was the service & atmosphere, I don't want this review to sound like a bash, we just had an underwhelming experience regarding the food. It doesn't mean the place is bad.
The hostess & owner (Bernie's son) are very nice & bring a positive energy to the place, & the design of the restaurant is very inviting & lovely. I would strongly recommend it to dine in!
To conclude, I would say give it a go, but don't expect to be blown away with the order we got. Maybe if I got a non gluten free pizza it would be life changing!

Le meilleur bar où je suis allé à Montréal, la nourriture & le personnel sont incroyables, je vous recommande d'y aller si vous êtes sur le chemin (& c'est très propre) N'y allez pas sans rendez-vous car il sera difficile de trouver une place ;)
The pictures don't give it justice. We were 20 people for my sister's birthday, & it was an amazing experience. We collaborated with the owner prior for organization & it was seamless. The place is definitely worth the hype, with fun retro vibes. The food arrived in no time, & it was DELICIOUS. Every one loved the pizzas & drinks. Our waiter Erika accommodated the whole thing, the cake cutting, & even though we were a large group we really enjoyed. Definitely recommended.
Make sure you make reservations in advance if you want a table. We booked 3 weeks in advance to get a table for 6 pm. It was worth the wait!
Service is great. From the hostesses, the waiters, & the bus boys. Everyone was so friendly.
My boyfriend & I shared the calamari for an appetizer, which was great; especially the spicy mayo dipping sauce. It has a very unique flavor. We also shared a half pepperoni & BBQ ranch chicken pizza. I did not try the pepperoni half, but my boyfriend said it was great. I personally loved the BBQ & ranch sauce. It was delicious. I also highly recommend the Blossom Rose martini.
My only complaint is because the restaurant is on the smaller side, the tables are placed close together, so you don't have a lot of room. The tables do fit the entire pizza on an elevated stand, but it still feels crammed. It also gets very loud when the restaurant is full, so it is hard to hear your date.
I would go back! This is definitely a nice place for a date night in the west island. I hope to see it expand to Montreal in the future, so it's closer to home.
