About

Beijing stands as a cornerstone of traditional Cantonese culinary arts, specializing in authentic dim sum and robust stir-fried dishes that highlight regional techniques. The menu features an extensive selection of seafood preparations, including live lobster and steamed fish, alongside classic noodle bowls and savory congee. Large, circular banquet tables define the spacious interior, facilitating communal gatherings and large-group interactions common in local Chinese dining culture. Each dish relies on traditional seasonings like ginger, scallions, and oyster sauce to maintain the integrity of fresh ingredients sourced for maximum flavor. The kitchen maintains rigorous standards for wok-searing, ensuring each portion arrives with consistent texture and temperature. This establishment remains a reliable destination for diners seeking a classic, high-volume dining experience rooted in the deep culinary traditions of Southern China.

Beijing has long been a staple in Montreal's Chinatown, recognized by many as a go-to destination for authentic, Cantonese-style Chinese cuisine. While experiences vary, the majority of patrons praise the restaurant for its extensive menu, generous portion sizes, and fresh, flavorful dishes such as lobster, Peking duck, and various noodle specialties. The service is frequently described as friendly, efficient, and welcoming, making the restaurant a popular choice for families and large groups alike. Some dishes were really good, the others not as gd, the meat was chewy, the dumpling with peanut butter were amazing, the noodle was good. So just check before you order & you'll be very satisfied

We arrived at our Montreal hotel around 10 p.m. after a long day of traveling & were absolutely starving. We happened to walk past this restaurant & decided to give it a try, & it ended up being one of the best meals we had during our trip.

The standout dishes were the sizzling beef, the moo shu chicken, & the steamed turbot. The turbot wasn't even on the menu, but when I asked if they could prepare a steamed fish, they happily accommodated my request. It was fresh, perfectly cooked, & one of my favorite dishes of the evening.

The only items we wouldn't order again were the sesame beef, which had more breading than we prefer, & the fried wontons.

We'd definitely come back. They had photos of so many other dishes, including oysters, displayed around the restaurant that made us want to return & explore more of the menu.

I had a horrible experience. I took 20 seniors from a residence for lunch there. They were all excited. I ordered the dishes in advance to save time. We ended up with dishes that fed 3 people at the table. When I told her in disbelief how she thought this was going to feed 21 people she said older people don't eat as much. She brought some more which still was not enough & then upped the price! When we saw that the regular daily specials were less than what we paid the residents refused to pay the higher price. It was a fiasco. We all left hungry!

I never expected to find such authentic, traditional Cantonese cuisine in Montreal. The dishes were flavourful & delicious, the ingredients fresh & clean, & the cooking perfectly executed. The cooking techniques were true to Cantonese style, light yet not bland, fresh yet not greasy. The service was attentive & the dining atmosphere elegant, making for a wonderful dining experience.

Just had some delivery - it is probably the worst Chinese food I ever had. Dry, bland, & one of the dishes was nothing like the photo, so much that I wondered if they sent the right dish.

Dishes were not authentic & not fresh- the stir fried mushrooms had some weird sourness that was not from cooking sauces. However, staff is friendly & place is clean

This long-established Cantonese restaurant is truly a local gem! The dishes are authentic & generous, & the service is excellent. The owner mentioned that the restaurant has been around for nearly 40 years, & maintaining such quality is really impressive. I'll definitely keep coming back!
