I've been visiting Behesht monthly since its opening. While it started strong, the food quality has noticeably declined. During my last visit, the rice was poorly cooked, & the Barg kebab lacked authentic flavor. Only one non-Persian-speaking server was available, leading to long waits. Restroom facilities were also lacking basic hygiene supplies. Still, great parking, nostalgic decor, & polite staff deserve mention.View more
One of the best Iranian restaurant experiences I've ever had!
The place was spotlessly clean, the food was delicious & served in generous portions.
The staff were incredibly friendly, polite, & welcoming.
Prices were very reasonable for the quality & quantity of the food.
There was also easy parking nearby.
If you're looking for authentic Persian food with a warm & inviting atmosphere, I highly recommend this place!View more
A good restaurant serving tasty Iranian food. The atmosphere is warm & welcoming, with beautiful classic decoration that adds to the experience. A great place to enjoy traditional Persian dishes in a cozy setting. Highly recommend!View more
Please do not let wrongful reviews done by fake people affect the restaurant- THE BEST PERSIAN RESTAURANT IN WHOLE CANADA! IT IS A PLEASURE TO EAT THERE. I hope the managmenet never changes. Willl always go back there on weekends!View more
Sweet & neat homy Persian restaurant with very friendly service. Fresh food, proper portion with fair price. The meat is not so dry not so greasy, it fits my taste well. Many options for meat dishes but also for vegetarians.View more
The best Persian restaurant in Canada! Literally the most beautiful interior design you could imagine! I got tears in my eyes when tried their dishes for the first time! Tasted like home!!!!
You could tell that they use high quality ingredients & the fact that they're always packed makes everything they serve always fresh.
Good job BeheshtView more

Visiting Montreal, we decided to try the Persian food at the Behesht restaurant on May 30, 2025. The atmosphere & decoration were nice. However, that's the only positive aspect of the restaurant. We ordered the most expensive individual dish on the menu, a combination of Koobedeh & Changeh kebab. We were served reheated Koobedh & Changeh kebab either that morning or yesterday. The meat was dry, & the greasy smell of the whole dish was not pleasant at all. When I complained they offered free food to take home which I refused. Do not be deceive with online ratings of the restaurant.
Behesht is our new go to Persian restaurant. The staff is so kind & polite & the food is delicious.
I feel like I'm dining at a great restaurant when I go there & wish they would remove some of the cheap decorations. The'ouvert' sign or the plastic plants in the foyer. It doesn't match the sophisticated & exquisite Persian dishes they serve.View more
Absolutely loved this place! The BBQ & Persian kababs were delicious & full of unique flavors. The staff were super friendly, & the restaurant was spotless. Highly recommend!View more
My recent dining experience at Behesht restaurant in Montreal was quite enjoyable. The selection of Persian dishes I sampled, including the Barg, Soltani kebab, & Chengeh, were all prepared to a high standard, showcasing delicious flavors & tender textures. The restaurant also offered a pleasant atmosphere & the service provided was attentive & courteous. Considering the quality of the food & the overall experience, the prices appeared reasonable. I would recommend it to others seeking a satisfying Persian meal in Montreal.View more
Super delicious authentic Persian food. The decoration makes you feel right back at home & the service is amazing. The waitress was super nice & friendly. We ordered the toranj platter, the meat was super juicy & well seasoned. The ash was very authentic & delicious. We also ordered the fsanjoon which was very rich & authentic. If you want authentic Persian food then it's definitely the place to go!View more
So far the best Persian kebab in Montreal, friendly staff! Location might not be the best- update! 5 stars! Barg was amazing!View more
It was absolutely fantastic! The staff's behavior was very polite & pleasant. The food quality was exceptional, & the decor was amazing. Also, having the menu in three languages-Persian, English, & Arabic-made the experience even more convenient & enjoyable.View more
Decor: Exquisite, beautiful, stainglass windows, the sun hit perfectly, persian rugs, faux brick that wasn't tacky...very chic for it's location! Soup: Lentil soup, insane, I could eat 4 bowls. Hummus: Very good, could have had more than a normal-sized portions. We tried ALL of the meat skewers in their'Behesht' platter. Unfortunately, the chicken breast skewer & the cubes of meat skewers were a bit overdone & dry, but the bone-in chicken & those made of ground meat were some of the best Persian bites I've ever had. So freaking good. Be VERY careful when ordering extra skewers. We ordered 2 extra & there are no prices for individual skewers on the menu. One was 7$, one was 24$. Baklava & tea for dessert was excellent. Tea was caradmom-based, so if you like that, you'll love the tea. But I must mention one last thing that was unfortnate. Our server was super nice & super kind to everyone, full of smiles to all customers.....except for us. The kids were well-behaved, we ordered efficiently, but she was curt, dismissive & her body language was quite rude. Now, obviously this could be all in my head, but she was like this to all the people at our table & we observed her not doing this with any other table. The predominant language at our table was NOT English (nor French), & we couldn't help but feel that there was some untowards feeling towards us because of it. Again, nothing that we could'prove', but a LOT of little things adding up. So, if we could avoid that server again, I would go back. The bone-in chicken & spicy Koobideh are calling for me with their meaty Siren song.View more
This place is their new location at the corner of cavendish & st Jacques. Wonderfully decorated & truly a place of warmth & class. Staff are friendly though some had difficulty speaking & understanding English - though Farci is a staple at this restaurant :) The menu is wide & plated as good or better than in the photos. Pricing is on par with other Persian restaurant of this caliber. Portions were excellent. Freshness & quality are excellent. Review. Salad was fresh, cold & crisp. Dressing was good but nothing special. Lamb shank stew (Baghali Polo with Mahicheh) - not recommended. Portion was on the small side. Meat was rubbery & the flavour was lacking. Something wrong likely how they cooked it as it's supposed to be fall of the bone tender. It could be the cut they used & how they cooked it. The fava bean & dill rice was plentiful but overly seasoned with dill, the beans were hard & not tender, & the rice was very dry. It's likely they prepared the typical rice & then added in the additional ingredient & then over cooked the rice - came with a small piece it tahdeek. Also, insufficient amount of stew / gravy. There was not enough to properly marry with the tough, dry & chewy meat. Chicken kebab (chicken Koobideh). The chicken was cooked perfectly as well as seasoned beautifully. The portion was plentiful & came with perfectly cooked basmati rice that was fluffy & not greasy & came with a small piece it tahdeek. Beef kebab (Koobideh) was perfectly seasoned & cooked. It's was so juicy & fresh like no other restaurant has done to match. As per above, cake with & excellent tasting portions of basmati rice & a piece of tahdeek. Yogurt with Persian shallot dip (Must Moosir) was perfect & balanced with a thick creamy yogurt & excellent on pita or combined with the proteins. Portion was very good & four people can easily share. Eggplant dip (Mirza Ghasemi) was superb! Best in the city for sure. The smokeless was on point & the seasoning was perfectly balanced. It's so good you just want to skip to pita & scoop it out with a utensil. Apparently this is their most ordered appetizer they sell. Portion was excellent & four people can easily share. Dessert. I have included the dessert we had & lack the name of it as it's also not mentioned in the menu. It's essentially layered thin pastry (like a proper French mille feuilles) with cream filling in & around it covered with chopped pistachios. I hope I have recalled this properly. This was such a delicious light & flavourful treat away from the typical Baklawa. The only point here is the price ratio to the portion - either the price is too high for the portion or the portion should be larger as it's no more two to (max) three small forkfuls. We didn't notice & mention of BYOB or the selling of any form of alcohol so plan not to consume here. This being stated, you really don't need the alcohol as the atmosphere, service & food really make you very relaxed & satiated. It's amazing how packed the place was & yet the demeanour of the customers was calm & the volume of the place was comfortable to be able to hear the person accepts the table from you. I mention this as if your like mane people, a restaurant with a more calm & quite atmosphere is actually an attraction especially for the elderly who may have hearing challenged. All in all the place is great & will be returning for certain. As for the 4 star rating, this is solely due to the lamb shank stew. It was just too far from "earning a star" & until this dish is prepared properly I without the star, though a more accurate number for me would be 4.5 stars. This being stated I doubt I would order it again as I would not be sure that the chief or management/ ownership will conclude with the same assessment & instead be quite defensive of their food prep & likely not change a thing. I would welcome peoples feedback on this dish to let me know your experience & hopefully one day this dish will be prepared as it should.View more
Food & service was excellent. Portions were more than generous, although I'm not Iranian & my perception on authentic Persian cuisine might be different from others. I can safely say that the quality of the dishes was excellent & I will gladly return.View more
Behesht Restaurant in Montreal is a great spot for authentic Iranian cuisine. The food, service, & prices are all excellent, making it a perfect choice for anyone craving Persian flavors. We ordered the Toranj platter for two, which was beautifully presented & came with a generous variety of four kebabs: koobideh (ground beef), chicken koobideh, chicken kebab, & barg kebab. It also included two plates of fragrant saffron rice & a choice of salad or soup, making it a hearty & satisfying meal. To complement our meal, we tried their yogurt with moosir (Persian shallots) & marinated olives, which were absolutely delicious & added a lovely touch of traditional flavors to the experience. The portions were generous, the kebabs were perfectly grilled, & everything was seasoned to perfection. The restaurant has a cozy & welcoming atmosphere, & the service was attentive & friendly throughout. For the quality of the food & the portion sizes, the prices were very reasonable. Behesht is definitely a must-visit for fans of Iranian cuisine or anyone looking to try something new.View more
Zereshk polo is one of the most popular Persian foods & you can find one of the most delicious ones here! Their masto moosir is wonderful which is a Persian dip with yogurt & shallot. They serve their dishes with Tahdig which is my favorite. Their koobideh needs to be more juicy & greasy to become the original.View more
The Persian cuisine offered here is of exceptional quality, & the service provided is outstanding.View more

I am so glad that this place was open on Labour Day. My wife has wanted to try Persian cuisine for the longest time & I was in Montreal so decided to google & this restaurant had great reviews so I decided to give it a try. Absolutely amazing from the service the atmosphere & the food. The place was crazy busy & the food was just flying out of the kitchen with such finesse. I was given a tea while I waited & when I got the food it was packaged perfectly & the owner was very kind & courteous. When I got home & opened it all up it was incredible. My wife was so happy & said it was exactly what she hoped it would be. I will definitely be returning & I recommend this place to everyoneView more
Highly recommend this restaurant if you wanna try the best Persian food ever! Try Behesht & you'll be surprised by its quality.View more
This place definitely has hygiene problems. I live in Toronto, & on my way back from Quebec, when I was feeling a bit under the weather, I searched for a Persian restaurant to have some soup. I saw the ratings & thought, "Yeah, this is where we should go." My family, who was visiting Canada, was with me. When we went to wash our hands, a rat ran into the washroom! I screamed & left immediately. I'm not even sure if they actually took care of the rat, though they claimed they did. My mistake was staying there after seeing it, but I wasn't feeling well enough to search for another place. The food quality was mediocre at best. Overall, this was one of the worst Persian restaurants I've ever been to.View more
