The cashier said the salmon lox will be the best you've ever had. He was right, hands down best salmon lox I've ever experienced. Highly recommend!
The owner/baker is very friendly & she's very helpful & obviously passionate. I personally didn't like the intensely elaborate bagels. To be offering New York style bagels in a city like Montreal, right next to St-Viateur, I really wish they offered at least normal breakfast options like regular cheese & butter instead of what looks like a carnival food item. Hard to find these bagels in Montreal when you're only visiting for a few days & you dont like Montreal-style bagels. I think they're leaving an opportunity on the table here to just offer great, non-elabortate simple bagel as an option. The plain bagel is tasty! But I could barely even bite into the banana, jalapeno, cream honey thing with lemon zest & rosemary - you are doing way too much for a bagel. The whole concept is strange in my opinion. It's like dessert on a bagel (& of course way more expensive than a normal bagel with toppings). & the zaatar wasn't great either. Also the place was full of bees when we were there in October. My girlfriend enjoyed her other dill pickle bagel though.
Finally, they have these intensely elaborate bagels but not a coffee machine. If you want coffee with your bagel (whether for breakfast or dessert) they encourage you to go for a walk & pick up a coffee from somewhere else & come back to pick up your bagel 😂
Such a warm & simple place!
The owner was gentle & kind.
As for the bagels, they are a must try! Got their salmon bagel & another with bananas, & the one with scrambled eggs - all of them were so good, soft, hefty & filling!
Must try
Bons bagels vegans! Délicieuse confiture maison & fromage à la crème végan savoureux (même si un peu'liquide'). Excellent service à la clientèle! Merci!
Super friendly. Tasty bagel with interesting spreads & sandwiches. Really enjoyed our lunch. & no line like the more well known places. Great choice! Only thing I wish they had was a sink to wash my hands or at least some sanitizer.
Queria comer um Bagel salgado. Procurei no Google Maps e fui ao St-Viateur. Havia uma fila enorme na porta e eu desisti (ainda bem🙂). A 1 min, estava o bbagels.
I've always preferred Montreal style bagels over NY. But I have to say, despite them being NY style, these are my new favourite bagels in Montreal. Perfectly chewy on the inside with an incredibly satisfying cruschy exterior. Not to mention they're all vegan & they have vegan dip options too. Will be back. A lot.
