Review Summary

Bbagels is widely regarded as a standout destination in Montreal, praised for its generous, fluffy, and high-quality bagels that feature a satisfyingly crispy exterior and soft, airy interior. While some customers find the unique, oversized portions and the mandatory rip and dip serving concept to be a departure from traditional local styles, many visitors and locals alike celebrate the creative flavor combinations, exceptional house-made spreads, and the standout smoked salmon sandwiches. The establishment is frequently highlighted for its warm, family-oriented atmosphere and exceptionally friendly service, with many diners appreciating the thoughtful, zero-waste approach and the availability of vegan options. Although opinions on pricing and specific flavor profiles vary, the majority of patrons recommend the experience as a must-visit alternative to more crowded tourist spots.

I had the banana & honey bagel & egg bacon cheese stuffed bagel. I thought the banana honey is just sweet & fruity, but it's mixed with onion, thyme, garlic etc which makes it so weird, & completely overpowers the honey & banana. The stuffed one is really good & big, I only finished half of it, & it's stuffed very full where the breading is thin, which is amazing. Highly recommend the stuffed bagel.

Not the most traditional, but certainly the highest quality bagel you'll find in Montreal. This is the bagel-snob's bagel. To get the best, ask for their recommendation & trust them. Bagels come out so fresh they will burn your fingers if you're not careful! The smoked salmon bagel is fantastic with house smoked salmon & topped with fresh herbs & lemon zest. The jalapeno garlic honey cream cheese dip is mild enough for kids & not too sweet for adults. Our kids wanted the Nutella strawberry bagel, however when Nutella was spread on a piping hot bagel it gets pretty liquid & quickly all over kids. 🤣 I think bbagel's'rip-&-dip' style would be better suited to a deli-cup of Nutella for dipping & a small side of strawberries as chaser. I wish we'd skipped the most well known bagel shop down the street & ate here for another breakfast. We look forward to another delicious rip-&-dip! Posting a pick of the salmon bagel that everyone else posted… because it's THAT amazingly good.

The bagels here are quite good-fresh, hot, & well-stuffed. We tried the Poulet, Marinara Pesto, & Cheese, & the quality was definitely there. However, at $20 per bagel, the price point feels a bit steep for what you get.

I cannot rave about these bagels enough - Perfectly crispy on the outside while soft & airy on the inside.

We ordered the smoked salmon bagel which is probably the best lox I ever had.

The everything bagel with the honey jalapeno cream cheese dip was also delicious.

Can't wait to go back & try other things on their menu!

a world in which i can have a world in which i can have these bagels for breakfast every morning is a perfect, very yummy world. the bagels here are definitely a bit more untraditional, in terms of size, texture, & unique flavours like banana & honey, as well as their SCRUMPTIOUS cream cheese selection. i tried their smoked meat STUFFED BAGEL & it was insanely delectable. you can tell they didn't just throw a bunch of ingredients together haphazardly, but that they made sure everything worked well together. the smoked meat had a nice balance of chewy lean & fatty bits, & i really liked how it wasn't overly salty, oily, or overpowering. there was lots of melty cheese mingling with buttery, mushy mashed potatoes, which was super duper comforting. the bagel itself was super hefty, & the outside had a perfect slight crisp while retaining a nice & fluffy & soft doughy bread-like inside. the sesame seeds also sprinkled on top was also a nice touch of flavour. DONT EVEN GET ME STARTED ON THE CREAM CHEESE THOUGH - it's much creamier &'watery' than your typical thick schmear, but it was soooo good. the sweetness of the honey went so well with that subtle, sharp jalapeno taste & garlicky undertone, & the creamy freshness gave such a nice bright contrast to the hot stuffed bagel filling.

'Daaaaaaamnn'... thats what I said when I bit into their bagels.

Im use to NY bagels but I can honestly say I preferred these.
Not your typical sweet montreal bagel.

Much more airey type of bagel compared to NY.

The lox bagel was garnished with idk what but had a mix & blast of fresh flavors. Id say top 3 lox bagels of my life.

I also tried the Bacon egg & cheese one which there was only 2 left at 1:15PM. So get there before that time if you want the good stuff. The bagel is stuffed with the bacon egg & cheese.

I also tried the poutine special stuffed bagel.

Order of awesomeness. Lox bagel, poutine, then bacon egg & cheese. I expected the BEC to get #2.

Staff was super friendly & amazing.

Latte was flavorful & not bland.

Not so much space inside but who cares if your food is 10/10.

Parking was easy & free on sunday.

A must go if you are in Montreal. Added 1 hr to my ride but so worth it.

If youre looking for a traditional sesame cream cheese bagel taste with the dip inside the bagel, this is NOT the place. My pregnancy bagel craving was not satisfied. Other than that, place looked nice & friendly staff.

I'm amazed by the banana honey bagel. The richness of the flavor is like haven. I'm not sweet tooth & the sweetness of the bagel is perfect for me. Also bought their home made cream cheese & will attempt to reproduce at home when I go back to Toronto.

Everything about this place is miserable. Do not go here. They don't even have regular cream cheese. I get angry just thinking about this place.

The owner/baker is very friendly & she's very helpful & obviously passionate. I personally didn't like the intensely elaborate bagels. To be offering New York style bagels in a city like Montreal, right next to St-Viateur, I really wish they offered at least normal breakfast options like regular cheese & butter instead of what looks like a carnival food item. Hard to find these bagels in Montreal when you're only visiting for a few days & you dont like Montreal-style bagels. I think they're leaving an opportunity on the table here to just offer great, non-elabortate simple bagel as an option. The plain bagel is tasty! But I could barely even bite into the banana, jalapeno, cream honey thing with lemon zest & rosemary - you are doing way too much for a bagel. The whole concept is strange in my opinion. It's like dessert on a bagel (& of course way more expensive than a normal bagel with toppings). & the zaatar wasn't great either. Also the place was full of bees when we were there in October. My girlfriend enjoyed her other dill pickle bagel though.
Finally, they have these intensely elaborate bagels but not a coffee machine. If you want coffee with your bagel (whether for breakfast or dessert) they encourage you to go for a walk & pick up a coffee from somewhere else & come back to pick up your bagel 😂
