These are great starters!
The Rambha chicken & mutton were the best.
The waiter, Rachana, was also fantastic.
Very good service by Rachna. She was pleasant & attentive. Food was good though the Hyderabadi chicken curry could have sautéed a bit more.
I ordered Vijayawada biryani for takeout & chicken pieces were so bad like a rubber & no gravy also... unfortunately I had to throw all the biryani... very bad experience
The curry cuisine is awesome, both the lamb & the chicken are so good with the nann
Authentic Indian place with a lot of variety & spicy levels to satisfy all taste buds. Good for sharing! Tried the bryani chicken & the lamb korma!
My family LOVES this. It's authentic South Indian food. I highly recommend the 555 shrimp & chilli chicken. As well as mutton ghost biriyani.
I wanted to like Bawarchi so bad as I heard good things about it & I was excited to try it. I ordered on uber a chicken tikka masala & I was so disappointed. There was absolutely no pieces of chicken besides 2. More chili & bell pepper than anything. Sucks.
Tried the curry leaf chicken, chettinad chicken curry & garlic naan. All tasted very authentic & delicious!
I LOVE THIS PLACE!! Get the Shahi & Palanadu Biryani, they're DELICIOUS!!
Place is always booming, but they don't take reservations (I'm pretty sure), so try to go when there's a seat open!
UPDATE:
Shahi Chicken Curry combo is BOMB
The food is very well made, tasty & of great quality. It's our regular place. Butter chicken biryani, bawarchi special chicken biryani, mutton ghee roast biryani & chicken 65 are our favourites.
The only problem is during peak hours when the service gets really bad. The staff tries their best to attend to everyone but it's very disorganised, everyone seems to be doing too many jobs. Even a little bit of organising & streamlining will improve the service greatly.
As a result we prefer ordering at home more than dining in especially during busy hours.
Menu says rice included for butter chicken but it comes without rice for 18$.
It's honestly a fantastic place to try some Indian food! Their chicken & lamb was so tender & flavorful, & their naan was the best! Dining hall environment very cozy & waiter there was very friendly & helpful! Definitely Will come back again
We placed an order & noticed that a few items were missing. We tried calling the restaurant several times & eventually got through. After explaining the situation, we were informed that the team would check & call us back within 10 minutes. Unfortunately, we did not receive a callback.
Since we couldn't reach them again by phone, we decided to visit the restaurant in person to resolve the issue. While the discussion took some time, Nitika, one of the restaurant staff members, was polite & spoke to us very well, which we appreciated. Eventually, the team provided an additional item as compensation.
The food itself tasted good, & overall the quality was satisfying. With some improvement in customer handling & communication, the overall experience could be even better.
Food Ratings:
• Chicken Biryani: ⭐ 3.5/5 (chicken pieces
should be more fresh)
• Chicken Tikka Masala: ⭐ 4/5
• Chicken 65: ⭐ 2/5 (Needs improvement)
Overall food is nice. 🤩
AMAZING FOOD!! We ordered lamb korma, chicken tikka masala & butter chicken biryani, all of it was delicious. The bowls are big so you get a lot of food for the price
Payal was a wonderful host
She recommended the spicy curry chicken - which we tried - wonderful meal & highly recommended!
Honestly phenomenal - dare I say this might be the best Indian food in downtown Montreal? The 555 gobi appetizer is crispy yet saucy, the Nawabi chicken is creamy & flavourful & the lamb in the Chettinadu curry is soo tender. & of course, do not skip the garlic naan & the mango lassi to scoop up all the sauce & clear the palate!
Edit: I forgot to mention that the service is amazing, despite the place being busy. The server - a lovely lady - will give great recommendations & help with combos ;)
I don't miss home or the spicy food from my homeland anymore because this place serves the best Indian food in town!
I absolutely love their Fish Biryani (my go-to dish every single time!), along with Karakoram Chicken & Lamb Korma - all bursting with authentic flavor & spice.
The staff is always welcoming & hospitable, even during rush hours. Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone craving genuine Indian flavors
The food at Bawarchi was some of the best Indian food we've had on the east coast. We got the paneer tikka masala combo, chicken shahi paneer, & the samosa chat. It was all flavorful although a bit on the spicy side. We'll be back to try the biryani! We waited about 20 mins to be seated but that just proves how good this place is! Staff was very friendly.
Absolutely delicious! The service & everything 10/10! You should try the lamb curry & butter chicken❤?
