Her descriptions of things were very dry
Food was decent but not impressive
Dessert was very lame
Merci Elias pour le service attentionné & très professionnel 🙏 la 5eme étoile sur cet avis est pour toi!
First time at the one on decarie. Really not a fan of the new decor. Food was ok. West Island BR still feels like a steak house & the food is better. It's all about the cooks in the back.
Full marks. Amazing service & delicious food. Highly recommend. Peach salad to die for. Yum.
We had a lovely time on the well decorated patio. Various vegetarian/vegan options...food was delicious.
Good service, & short wait time for the food. The drinks were yummy but the ribs were just average, perhaps lacking a bit of flavour.
Bâton Rouge presents itself as an upscale dining experience - the ambiance is sleek, & the prices suggest something special. However, the food doesn't quite deliver. While the presentation is polished & the portions are decent, the flavors are underwhelming. It feels like it's aiming for decadence, but the dishes lack the richness & depth you'd expect at that price point. Service was fine, but overall, it's more style than substance. Not bad, but not memorable.
I came last night to baton rouge with my hockey team ( 12 guys ) & we were lucky enough to get a table in the bar section even though the restaurant was packed.
We were served by sarah, who did a fantastic job serving all of us & getting all our orders spot on ! ( Chapeau to her ! )Great service, friendly & a great smile! Food was good & didnt wait long at all. Would recommend this restaurant to any & everyone !
I need to get this off my chest: although it's been a while since the Baton Rouge on Rue des Jockeys in Montréal was renovated, I still haven't been able to get used to the new look. I really miss the old design - it had a warm, dark, almost classic steakhouse feel that gave the space a lot of character. It felt cozy, even a little upscale. Now, the atmosphere is colder & more minimal, & for me, something essential was lost in that change. I know some people might prefer the newer, more modern aesthetic - but personally, I find it a step backward.
That said, I keep coming back - & there's a reason for that. The service here is consistently excellent: attentive, professional, & always friendly. The food is just as good as ever. Their signature ribs are as tender & flavorful as you'd hope, & their hand-selected Canadian AAA steaks are always cooked to perfection, tender & beautifully marbled. Honestly, you can't really go wrong with anything on the appetizer menu either - everything is well-portioned, satisfying, & made to share. Their cocktails are another highlight - thoughtfully mixed & surprisingly refined for a casual grillhouse.
What really makes this location stand out is how versatile it is. Whether I've come here for a dinner date, a family meal, a birthday celebration, or even a business lunch, it's always delivered. The bar area also adds a nice touch for a more laid-back visit, which gives it even more flexibility.
It's not my favorite Baton Rouge location, simply because I miss the way it used to feel - but when it comes to food, service, & value, it still sets the bar. & for that, it remains a go-to.
Amazing good & atmosphere
Price was very very decent
We had a wonderful time celebrating our son's birthday (20yo)
You can never go wrong with ribs & fries at baton
The spinach cheese dip is a definite must
Calamari was actually very tasty
I recommend
Went for a group party. After realizing our table was broken the staff worked hard to fix the issue. Displacing us a few times. The salad I ordered was huge with the smallest portion of steak.
The service was fantastic for my son's 18th birthday. The only disappointment was the Ahi tuna salad I ordered. It has always been my go to when I eat at Baton Rouge. The recipe however, was changed & included green beans & potatoes that were seasoned terribly & in my opinion had no place in the salad. I wish they would return to the old recipe. So much better!
The atmosphere is warm & inviting, & the staff is attentive & friendly, which made the visit enjoyable. The ribs were good but nothing to rave about - tender but lacking that wow factor. The coleslaw, unfortunately, was a miss for me; it didn't complement the ribs & felt like an afterthought ,the fries were cold when they came to the table & baked beans were drowning in tomato sauce. The food was all right but not memorable. I enjoyed the service & the setting more than the actual meal. If you're going for a relaxed evening with good service, it's a decent choice .
