However, the food doesn't quite deliver. While the presentation is polished & the portions are decent, the flavors are underwhelming. It feels like it's aiming for decadence, but the dishes lack the richness & depth you'd expect at that price point. Service was fine, but overall, it's more style than substance. Not bad, but not memorable.View more
Amazing good & atmosphere
Price was very very decent
We had a wonderful time celebrating our son's birthday (20yo)
You can never go wrong with ribs & fries at baton

My family & I found this restaurant in an online search. It attracted our eye with the variety of foods offered, & it had something everybody could enjoy. When we arrived, we were greeted immediately & sat. Our server came over a few minutes later & asked us for drink selections, & they were received in less than 5 minutes. I ate a hamburger, my wife ordered chicken with rice pilaf, my son had the rack of ribs, & my daughter ordered a salad. Everything came with generous portions & tasted great. My son's ribs fell off the bone, & my burger was perfect. Everything was flavorful & hot upon given to us. I felt the pricing was very fair as the most expensive dinner was my son's ribs at $30, which is very fair for the product served.
Our server was great, the atmosphere was perfect with lower lighting, & it was not loud at all. I enjoyed the fact that it was a casual restaurant, but the staff dressed very nicely & gave outstanding customer service. It made you feel like you were at a higher end establishment with good food, service, & prices. I would highly recommend this restaurant if you are in the area, it won't disappoint!View more
We visited Baton Rouge in Montreal last night. The atmosphere was decent - a mix between a sports bar & a pub-style restaurant. Service was friendly, but a bit scattered; we were helped by four different servers throughout the evening. Everyone was kind, though it felt a bit disorganized.
The food came out quickly & the portions were huge, but the quality didn't quite match the quantity. The price of the food & drinks also did not match the quality. Appie, two drinks & mains over $160.
If you're looking for generous portions of okay food, this might be your spot. But if you're after the'best ribs in town,' you may want to keep looking.View more
Thanks! Here's the updated version with the correct name Baton Rouge & still keeping it casual & clear:

I'm visiting Montreal & tried a few restaurants over the past couple of days-most were bland & overpriced. Then I went to Baton Rouge, & it was such a great experience.
I had the chicken tender salad for $22, & it was delicious. The portion was generous, the taste was spot on, & the price felt totally fair. On top of that, the vibe & atmosphere were really nice & comfortable.
Thanks for offering great food at a reasonable price. I'll definitely be coming back!View more
Great place, prices, & overall experience. You can't really go wrong coming here as they are very consistent in both food & service from the multiple times I came here. The portions are always more than enough & quality, almost never dissapoints.View more
We came to Bâton Rouge for dinner & overall had a great experience. The atmosphere was cozy & welcoming, & the staff were attentive throughout the evening.
The standout, as always, was the ribs-still incredibly delicious. Tender, juicy, & packed with smoky flavor, they never disappoint. At just $29 for a full rib dinner, the value is excellent, especially considering the quality & portion size.
One thing that left a bit of a sour note: they had a happy hour drink special, but it only applies if you physically walk over & drink at the bar. If you order the exact same drink from your dinner table, the price jumps back to regular. It doesn't make much sense & honestly feels a bit unfair to seated guests.
That aside, the food quality & service make this a spot I'd still recommend-especially if you're here for the ribs.View more
Baby back ribs have gone down in quality & gone up in price. Too much sauce on it...lay off the sauce guys....baked potato was great with toutes garnier! Server was great & new Reno was ok but it makes a nice refresh so cudos to them.....I like the old dark & woodsy kind of look....parking is great 👍 . Bar look not for me. Too much glass meaning I get it you want to make it look big & spacious but when it's a house of mirrors look .....ehh not that great 😃. Overall great place!View more
Baton Rouge offers a stylish atmosphere, great food, & generous portions at affordable prices. The interior is beautifully designed, creating a welcoming vibeView more
Lower priced option for a Lunch steak. It's been consistently good actually for the Steak Frite which comes with healthy helping of fries of Garlic Mash. It's not my first choice for a great SUPPER steak, BUT, at lunch, for a reasonable price, it is a good option. Also had their ribs & burgers there & they don't disapoint. Also had a few selections of soups which are Harty & very good tasting. Always leave there satisfied.View more
It still carries the old steakhouse ambiance well, this branch does need a bit of maintenance but the service is some of the best you'll come across in Montreal , friendly, quick servers who know exactly what their doing . Food is good enough & prices are reasonableView more
Feels like little bit expensive if you take something fancy but the food is great & surprisingly fast. Portions are big. So overall after you are done with food the price impression starts to seems fair :) Service is great & completely bilingual, toilets are clean, & their care about kids is really sweet. We'll definitely come again. & again. & recommend this place to friends.View more
Service: 10/10 Food: 8/10 Price is a little expensive, but you get a large portion! I highly recommend getting the espresso martini :) Drinks & Dinner for two people costed around $100View more
Hadn't been here since the renovations. Was impressed the the newer & cleaner appearance as the old decor was in need of a renovation. Service was friendly & super quick. Food in the past was very good but through the years, they made many mistakes by getting rid of items I enjoyed like the marinated pork chop. Their portion size had also been reduced to the dismay of clientele as the prices didn't reflect LESS food. The burger was delicious & a great value at $16 in the bar area. Hopefully this trend of good value will continue.View more
just not good quality for the price point, you can definitely find better things in this area.View more
It's very basic for a bbq place. Prices are too high for the quality served. Server need to be trained better.View more
Everything was good. Not fantastic. The potato was very small & the beef in the beef dip a little fatty. The chips with the spinach dip were home made & delicious. The dip was very good too. I am not sure it every was worth the price but it was enjoyable. I would recommend eating in the restaurant & not doing take out though.View more
Good place to have dinner with friends or family. The service was good the couple times I was there. The food is a solid 4. The prices, like everywhere else, are getting high. I know this may be tough, but I think the chaîne needs to start thinking about little renovation or redecorating the places. My first visit was outside Québec city with an outdoor sitting & the place was really nice. The other too, including this one, need an uplift.View more
I used to eat at Baton Rouge quite regularly, but stopped going there about 6 months ago. I almost always ordered the rib steak which came with slaw & a baked potato or fries. It was OK, but they kept raising the prices & when they raised it to $54, I didn't think it was such a good deal anymore. They probably raised the price again since I last ate there. After they did the renovations, they got really pissy about charging me $5 extra for a little extra sour cream on my baked potato beyond the little dab they give you. The manager Jimmy was a total prick, was extremely hostile & rude to me when I complained about the extra charge. I contacted head office the next day because of the rudeness & one of the assistant managers called me & promised me a complimentary steak dinner to apologize & show good will, but I was later contacted by the owner who reneged on that promise. After being subjected to a half hour lecture about why he didn't feel a free steak dinner was warranted, he promised he would "take care of me" next time I came in. After charging me full price PLUS $5 for extra sour cream, he gave me a $25 gift certificate good on my next visit. I went back one final time to use the credit toward a rib dinner which was awful. The "rack & a half" they offer on the menu, was, in reality, a rack & a tiny extra piece (about 1/10 of a rack for $8 extra) & it was overcooked & dry. The place to go is Marven's. I go there 2-3 times a month. They serve up a huge 16 oz rib steak which beats Baton Rouge to hell. It is delicious. In addition they include a huge Caesar salad & home fried potatoes all for $39. The service is amazing & they don't nickel & dime you for a little extra courtesy. Anybody who ever tries a rib steak at Marven's would never even think about returning to Baton Rouge. I don't like being reneged on after a promise had been made & I am done with Baton Rouge.View more
Haven't been in years, being from the area I was disappointed.. The new decor is nice but the food was a bit underwhelming. Steak & mash are very good but portions small, 2 pieces of brocoli & one cauliflower.. Coleslaw doesn't taste the same. Steak was flooded with chimichurri instead of small bowl next to it. I'll settle for burgers next time. At that price I was expecting more.View more
Santa Fe chicken was very good, however the price has gone up quite a bit & I don't think I will be going back to this restaurant. Way too expensive now.
