We had one bad experience a year ago, where the food just wasn't as good as it used to be.. today we decided to give it another try in hopes that it would be as good as we remembered years ago.. but again tonight was so disappointing! The tartare & chicken this evening was underwhelming to say the least. We returned both plates. I'm not sure what happened to this place but it's just not like it once was unfortunately. Very sad.. the service however is great!View more
Absolutely fantastic! Local ingredients from nearby farms with the most beautiful interior & vibe. Great cocktails too!View more
All round the experience was great, across the three categories. The restaurant ambience was perfect for sharing a meal & having great conversation! The waiter who took care of us was extremely knowledgeable on the menu options & had fantastic recommendations!
If given the opportunity I would definitely go back, & I would recommend this to anyone looking for a good night out in Montreal.View more

We had a great night this past week at Barroco. Atmosphere is unique, historic & super cool. It's not a big place but it's a great environment. Phillip & his team took good care of us. They were friendly & attentive. The food was great.View more
View more
This place is amazing!! We have been several times, & make a trip to Old Montreal just to eat here. We always order the braised Beef.View more

Barroco was charming & romantic with great dishes & cocktails. The brioche starter with the garlic butter is something you can't miss, & the cantaloupe cocktail tastes like your biting into a fresh cantaloupe. Our server was very attentive & explained the dishes & specials very well.View more
I don't live in Montreal or Canada even but each time I visit, I come to Barroco. The cocktails are creative (Paper Crane & Echo Chamber last night) & the food was delicious. Above & beyond is the atmosphere & attentive service. Florian (so) was beyond nice & made the celebration of our nieces graduation even more special.View more
The MADELEINES, OMG they were so good! Warm, soft, moist, everything you want from a madeleine plus the super decadent caramel chocolate sauce to go with it. Simply amazingView more
The food was delicious. It was a good balance of traditional dishes with modern twists without being heavy or dated.
Service was attentive & friendly without pretense.View more
This is a super cute tiny restaurant with really great ambience. The service was friendly & capable, but very slow the night we went, we waited 45 minutes between courses; maybe they were shortstaffed? The food was very tasty but the portions were very small given the price point.View more
We had a wonderful experience at Barrocos! The ambience was fun & interesting, the service was great, & the food was TREMENDOUS! I had the paella with octopus & it was delectable. My partner had the cod & it was also first rate. One of the best meals I've had in a long time. A memorable experience.View more
Dinner at Barroco was the highlight of my stay in Montreal & the best food I've had since I moved to Canada two years ago.View more
