I came on a Monday June 30th at 2:45 pm . We were seated & immediately told we had 5 mins to order for the lunch / kitchen was closing at 3 pm !!! We felt super stressed as we cycled from the old port . This was a special occasion as my wife was 8 months post opened heart surgery . We wanted to celebrate but felt super stressed as we were immediately told to order otherwise we were screwed for food !! Ordered a sandwich , pasta a glass of wine & beer . Was given one menu which we were sharing quickly etc etc . We were sitting at the window inside & noticed other clients ordering from the terrace after we finished our lunch so of course I asked the menu & ordered a entree which we missed in the rush of being told to order . Ordered a ricotta foccacia Honey snd more drinks etc later the person who greeted us brought us two chocolatine in a paper bag to take home . I guess he realized it was inappropriate ! Later another server asked if we wanted one or two bills . I said one & brought us the bill & came with payment machine . I told her the lunch bill is 150$ & we will be ordering more stuff as we just wanted to listen to the music & feel humble & grateful be there healthy etc The server said the paper bag on the table made her think we were leaving ! Finally I didn't order anything else & decided to leave ! I gave you 5 stars all around as we are grateful to be healthy & appreciate everything life has to offer . You really need to look at your workflow as many different people came to our table & missed the interaction flow & service from the previous person . I was ordering drinks all along etc Gracias for the chocolatine but you missed out on the human component of why we came to your place . Its was not only about the food the reason we came . In all the moving parts it takes one person to look at the floor & tables & quickly see what experience each table is looking for . It's special when you tune into that as you make a difference in a day of a person / create memories etc Great summeView more

Love their wine list! Personally, I prefer their appetizers over their pasta. The cacio e pepe lacks a bit of flavor. The focaccia, arancini, parmesan fries & polpettes are all delicious. Since they do not take reservations, do expect to wait 45 minutes on busy evenings.View more

2024: just came for afternoon drinks. Was provided with great wine glass recommendations. Also had the Rome With a View cocktail which was good. 2022: Came here for lunch. Excellent service. Very attentive. Helped find something we thought we lost. Ordered the arancini & the pâte au beurre from the main menu as well the sandwich & smoked salmon from the pop-up. Edit* been twice since my first time, Both times I ordered the bolognese & both times they brought me the cacio Pepe. I understand it's a simple mistake but if you're not writing the order down when we're ordering 10 things obviously something is going to get mixed up . Besides that the pastas didn't match the quality of the first time I ate there... probably will not come back Food & wines are yummy, the staff is nice however it got a little ratchet when I was there last time . The Managers were clearly piss drunk, standing on tables barefoot pouring shots from the bottles into eachothers mouths, falling off the tables...etc not sure it's the look they want to be giving off.View more

Had a wonderful meal at this beautiful establishment. The wine selection was vast. The beer prices inexpensive. The service very friendly but on the slow side. The food seas excellent, enjoyed the calamari & the Campanelle pasta & both were excellent. If the food came out a little quicker it would have been a perfect visit. Overall: great food & wine, looooong wait. We went around 7:30 on a busy Friday night; we were told it was a 45 min wait for a table, & were seated in the waiting area. I think they thought we had left because we ended up waiting 1.5h, & several tables seated before us. When we were finally sat, service was better but took a while to be seen. Its a shame we had this experience because the wine & food were both really great. If you catch them outside of the rush, i definitely think its worth a try.View more

Incredible staff. I was shocked at how pleasantly friendly & helpful everyone was . I was contemplating leaving because my kid was cold on the terrasse & fussy (understandably) but they quickly accommodated us indoors with a book for him & coloring pencils. The waiter placed his order first & he had food within minutes . It was just impressive how the staff works together, perfect harmony. In this day & age when you're kind of used to bad service, eating there tonight was really enjoyable. The food was wonderful, slightly expensive. The wine was fantastic. All in all a great experience. I will definitely go back.View more

This place... amazing! The selection of wines was great, not much by the glass but very cool & funky bottles available. It was super busy when we got there but we managed to get a glass of wine while we waited & the time flew by. Once seated our server was amazing, super friendly, open to let us try out French & with great suggestions. Everything was delicious but the service is what made this experience a 10/10. The cacio & pepe was really good but the white bolognese was the star of the night for us! Delicious olives & focaccia as well! Incredible establishment. I come here at least once weekly & I've been here across seasons for coffee, breakfast, lunch, dinner, & recently, even a New Year's tasting menu. This place is incredible for a litany of reasons & my review will just scratch the surface. Food: I came for the the Cacio e Pepe croissant (RIP, bring this back please) & stayed for... well, everything else. The coffee is incredible (I get the pistachio latte at least once weekly) & I haven't had a bad dish for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. The menus span the gradient of baked goods & simple fried finger foods to complex & creative dishes (with fantastic wine pairings to accompany them.) The food is top tier whether you're going small or big. Service: Not many places you can go to & see the same friendly faces each time you go. Someone must be doing something right because turnover here compared to other establishments seems minimal & service is warm, friendly, quick, & informed. Very chill & relaxed vibe, & every person I've interacted with has been nothing short of awesome. Atmosphere: I can't begin to do the vibe this place has justice... the decor... the unpredictable but always spot on interesting tunes & music playing... it's just a cool place with an incredible atmosphere. This is a go to spot we bring people who are visiting to & without fail it's always a hit. I love getting some work done in the mornings where things are chill... you've got some light tribe called quest playing in the background, the restaurant is getting all the light from outside with the curtain wall windows, & everything & everyone is seemingly relaxed & hanging out. Then you get the transition into the awesome energy this place has in the evenings & in terrace season, where this place gets filled with energy that somehow feels intimate, & is absolutely thriving. We even did the New Year's tasting menu recently & brought in the new year having a blast with the whole restaurant - customers & staff alike. Ate & drank & danced in & out of our seats with great mix of tunes. Overall & TL;DR This place is cool with awesome food, drink, service, & vibes.View more

I've been there to breakfast twice now. A really good experience across the board. Food is always fresh & tasty. You can tell they make everything by hand the flavours are simple yet efficient & seasoned enough! The waiters were kind, caring & funny. They have a wide selection of wines. Their chai latte is spot on! Food is always fresh & the placenis really clean! It was a little cold in there today, must admit it's minus 15 outside. I have been to BarBara a few times & the food is always as good, fresh & tasty! The staff is very friendly, the ambiance of the place is cozy & lovely. What I also like is that's it doubles as a café during the day so you can also drop by for a quick coffee or matcha break. A bit of a side note, but their matcha lattes hot or iced are very well prepared & taste very good. I always like to bring my friends here, the price is very reasonable & some side dishes can definitely be shared. I would say some of my favorite items are the arancini, the burrata & the cacio e pepe. They have a good wine & alcohol selection as well. Just a few things to consider is that they do not take reservations so you have to be there early on typical weekend evenings because you might have to wait for a little while. However, you can always order a drink or a side dish while you wait. That being said, I would recommend you to try this place!View more
