I recently went back to Kabinet in Montreal for the second time, now under new administration & new Executive Chef - & I have to say, I didn't think it was possible, but the experience was even better than my first visit!
The atmosphere remains as stylish & inviting as ever, but the new team has taken things to another level. The service was flawless, & the food… absolutely unforgettable.
Highly recommend the salad (fresh, vibrant, perfectly balanced), the smoked trout (a standout-delicate & flavorful), & the asparagus (elevated to perfection) Every dish felt thoughtfully prepared & beautifully presented.
If you haven't been since the change in management, it's time to go back. & if it's your first time, you're in for a treat
Une tentaculette de pieuvre trop cuite à 26$? C'est se payer deux fois la tête du client. Portion lilliputienne & si dure que le chef ne sait peut-être pas qu'il faut briser les fibres de la bête ! & comme nous étions deux à avoir commandé le même plat, nous avons été servis dans la meme assiette de service. Curieux! La patience du serveur nous a convaincus de découvrir les vins au verre que la maison propose. Des vins naturels tous aussi mauvais les uns que les autres. Je me suis rabattu sur l'eau pétillante ! Lors de votre prochain séjour à Nice chef, je vous recommande les vraies & savoureuses tentacules de poulpe des Bains du Castel. Cuitent à basse température pendant plus de 8 heures elles sont très tendres & grillées avant d'être servies leur assurant un savoureux petit croquant!
Superb beef tartare & loved the king trumpet mushroom dish. Sat at chef's counter solo which was great. They use fresh, local ingredients & dishes looked perfectly executed.

Une table à ne pas manquer & un chef dont le travail se sent dans chaque bouchée. De la mousse de foie de volaille jusqu'aux habaneros fermentés on goûte dans chaque plat un réel amour de la cuisine & un souci d'exciter les papilles. L'ambiance y est chaleureuse & le service impeccable. C'est une expérience à répéter ne serait-ce que pour déguster chaque item du menu 🤣
Belle découverte dans le quartier. Cuisine assez bonne mais pas exceptionnelle. Bonne variété de plats & cocktails. Un peu bruyant, mais bon c'est un bar plus q'un resto. L'avantage est qu'on m' entend pas les voisins! Cuisine ouverte qui permet de voir les chefs à l'oeuvre!
Great evening at Kabinet! Space is cozy & chic, staff was great, & chef was very accommodating to my dietary restrictions. We shared a few plates & enjoyed them all: the focaccia, warm greens, crudo plate, & beef tartare. Everything was on point. Will definitely be back.

We really enjoyed the place! We were sitting on “chef’s table”. Food was delicious. We had a great experience with staff, suggested bottle of wine was exactly as we requested. Ambiance was just perfect for our small date night.
Cinq étoiles, c'est pour une très bonne adresse; Kabinet, elles sont amplement méritées. Un décor chaleureux, un chef ingénieux &, au service, du personnel qui donne envie de rester plus longtemps ou de revenir au plus vite!
Un bel exemple de ce qu'une belle équipe de gens professionnels & talentueux peuvent accomplir.
