About us
A lot of people asked me: Why Bananier ? Here is the story...
Have you ever smelled a steamed banana leaf? This unique scent will forever embody a flurry of my childhood memories, instantly unlocking flashbacks of the beautiful Asian continent, its unique dishes, vibrant market stalls, and trendy restaurants. Growing up, this same sweet leafy aroma led me to the kitchen, intrigued by my Ba Noi’s (grandmother's) culinary concoctions. A family passion for cooking passed on from generation to generation, my father introduced me to Thai flavor, technique, and creativity. Soon after, my parents guided me through the entrepreneurial challenges of their own restaurants, L'Escale a Bangkok and Red Thai, from staffing to sourcing, and from plating to customer journey.
Twenty more years alongside our city’s most amazing cooks and restaurateurs, inspired by childhood recipes and my own, I finally bring you "Bananier Resto-Bar"!
You'll be able to find me in the front hall, running in and out of the kitchen. You'll also catch a glimpse of Papa Ngoc and Mama Ly in the kitchen.

I'm a fan of Thai food & have tried different dishes each time I visited this place, but they all tasted cheap (tasted like homemade & not restaurant quality), & none of them made me think,'Wow, this is so delicious, I'm going to order it again next time!' This is actually the first Thai restaurant that didn't satisfy me, which is surprising.
On my last visit, the waiter brought me the wrong order, said he would come back to fix it, but never did. I was starving but I was with a group of people & had to leave soon, so I had to stick with the incorrect dish with no discount, no apology, & no offer of any alternative to make up for their mistake.
Despite the nice atmosphere inside, I wouldn't recommend this place due to the staff's rude attitude toward customers I experienced & the mediocre quality of the food.View more

J'ai été déçu par mon dernier passage au Bananier, restaurant auquel j'allais fréquemment à l'ouverture il y a déjà plusieurs années. La qualité a diminué drastiquement (si tu aimes le céleri & les crevettes non-déveinées tu seras servi) & le goût insipide des plats n'inspire pas la vraie cuisine thaïlandaise. Les commentaires récents sont très justes: ça goûte en effet comme"your friends stir-fry" & ça ne vaut pas les calories & le prix (au thai express/panda thai c'est huileux aussi, mais bon & abordable au moins). Je suis restée avec un goût amer tant à cause du pad sew brûlé que le prix.View more

via LibroVny is the wonderful owner & she always makes you feel welcome & your patronage appreciated. A totally lovely restaurant with superb food & great ambience. If we had one suggestion to make, it would only be to have their tasty Bananier Thai Bowls available not only on their Lunch menus, but to also include it on their Dinner Menu. Anything ordered at Bananier is sure to please!

This is my fiancé’s favourite place to go for Thai. He loves their duck. He’s never had a better meal. He will literally go there just to eat the duck! The food otherwise is fresh & flavourful. The staff working there are kind & very knowledgeable of their menu. The atmosphere is calm & clean. Great for families of date night. They also have a terrace & nice bar for drinks. It can be pricey though if you want to try the full range of menu options in one go- which we recommend you do!View more

C'est la 4ieme fs & les fois avant c'était très bon! Mais malheureusement ce soir Notre repas paid thaï était brulé & aucune saveur au plat... On l'a mentionné & on ns a dit Que c'était la cuisson au work!! Pas d'autres commentaires du proprio... Déception!

via LibroWe had a lovely meal at Le Bananier. The service was smooth & the food was delicious. There was no duck available but the surf & turf was excellent. We also enjoyed the Pad Thai Bananier, tom som salad & pho (soup). A great discovery was the ginger sorbet & black sesame sorbet - outstanding & so unusual. Many thanks
