Review Summary

Reviews describe Aux Quartiers Belle Gueule as a popular biergarten with a wide outdoor terrace that shines in summer, a convivial vibe, and a strong local beer lineup brewed on site that pairs well with a menu ranging from solid bites to pizzas and poutines; the on site brewhouse visible from the pub adds an immersive touch. The atmosphere is noted as lively and spacious, though crowds can make it loud and at times the service feels minimal with bar pickup for drinks and food and payment at a terminal. Some praise the value and the range of beers, while others find beer prices high and the food quality uneven, from excellent value to disappointing on winter visits. The space is appreciated for casual afternoons and family outings, including dogs, and it is even described as well suited for private events, with a welcoming and simple but efficient bar service in many cases. Overall it comes across as a festive, beer driven scene with a mix of strong highlights and occasional drawbacks.

Visited on June 13, 2021, in the afternoon, my first brewery/brewpub rating since September of last year. Located between Christophe-Colomb Ave & the RJ (GMT) Brewery, the building used to house Grolsch Canada Inc, which is distributed by GMT. Although the building has been part of the brewery for years, it's only last year brewpub project came too light, under Jan-Philippe Barbeau, best known for MacKroken Flower & the Loup Rouge Brewery. It opened to the public for the first time last Friday, so it's very young, however it's been brewing for months now selling cans in limited retail stores. It opened to the public for the first time last Friday, so it's very young, however it's been brewing for months now selling cans in limited retail stores. The north end of the brewpub is were the large patio is located & so far the only place open. There is no food for now because the kitchen is not ready. There is 8 beers on tap, 5 are from the main brewery & 3 from the brewpub, they also have hard cider in cans & a few none alcohol beers. In the front the indoor pub, but is not open, but it looks fairly big. Bathrooms are on the De La Roche Street side of the building, all very accessible & the staff is quit friendly. A new place for Barbeau to practice his art!
