Review Summary

Automne Boulangerie is described as a small, intimate bakery with a cozy neighborhood vibe that consistently delivers high quality breads and pastries, with many reviewers calling the croissants among the best in Montreal and praising the baguette, pain au chocolat and the signature batard, along with a chocolatine that delights chocolate lovers. The coffee and other drinks receive praise as well, and the staff are generally friendly and helpful, although one review notes a rude moment from a staff member. The shop is compact with limited seating, there are a few outdoor tables, and weekends tend to bring a wider variety of croissants and tarts while weekdays focus more on croissants. Several posts mention items selling out quickly and occasional pastries not feeling as fresh later in the day, but the overall tone highlights the bakery as a standout in Montreal for artisanal bread and baked goods, drawing customers from nearby and farther places who return for reliable quality.

Automne Boulangerie is a small, intimate bakery with a cozy neighborhood feel-often mentioned as having some of the best croissants in Montreal. We visited on a Sunday around 3 p.m., & unfortunately, the croissants & tarts were already sold out. The only items left were a few cookies & a chocolatine (pain au chocolat), so I ordered the chocolatine for $3.75 CAD.

The bakery itself is very compact. Inside, there aren't tables for sitting, just a small counter to stand at, but there are a few outdoor tables right by the door. The staff were friendly & helpful in explaining the items available. They also mentioned that weekends usually bring more variety, including fruit tarts, while weekdays focus mainly on croissants.

The chocolatine I tried was good-crispy on the outside, soft & tender inside, exactly what you'd expect from a quality bakery. I wouldn't say it was the best I've ever had, but it was still enjoyable.

If you're in the neighborhood, Automne Boulangerie is worth a visit, especially earlier in the day or on a weekend to get the full range of their croissants & tarts.

I have tried a handful of treats & this bakery never disappoints. Always fresh & well crafted. Best chocolatine in Montreal!

The only downside is that most baked goods are sold out fast.

Not a good bakery. The goods are stale & hard, & it's quite expensive for what you get. Better go somewhere else.

I brought to the baristas attention that the hot chocolate was barely warm, & they offered to add hot water to it. Such a low standard service solution for a bakery with such high quality bread. In addition to that, they aren't at all enthused when you ask about their bread selection
