This place is one of the best French restaurants in Montreal. It has become an institute for perfection. The atmosphere is wonderful. My partner took me there in our first date, 18 years ago. We keep on going there as they kept the quality of the food, while introducing a few new dishes. The poultry Riette was to die for, the Seabream fish was in delicious green curry & for dessert, a pavlova cake that was a celebration of quality ingredients that all contribute to your taste buds to be happy. Kudos!

An exceptional dining experience from start to finish! We chose Au Petit Extra for dinner before catching a show at the neighboring Lion d'Or, & it was the perfect decision.

It is a classic French bistro-style restaurant with a wonderful, chill atmosphere. The service was excellent, attentive, & well-paced for pre-show dining. Our waitress was very friendly & made us feel genuinely welcome.

Every single dish was absolutely delicious. My burger was cooked to perfection, flavorful, & juicy. My wife ordered the confit de canard, & it was incredibly tender & flavorful. The delicious dessert & a digestif were an excellent sweet finish that beautifully topped off our meal.

We will definitely be back next time we are in the area. Highly recommended!

J'ai toujours aimé le Petit Extra... Pour le charme du lieu, pour la cuisine & le service. Ça faisait longtemps que je n'y étais pas allée. Comme j'ai eu envie d'un spectacle au Lion d'Or ( juste à côté, un autre endroit mythique) j'ai décidé d'y amener ma fille. Eh bien ça n'a pas changé! Je dirais même que le service y est encore mieux qu'avant! Tout en politesse & en prévenance. En fait, c'est tout ce que j'aime. L'EXPÉRIENCE-restaurant. Déguster, sentir & remercier le chef en personne! Longue vie au Petit Extra!!!
