We had an amazing evening au Comptoir Marcel. We ordered the 6 service discovery menu & each dish was delicious.Celine's wine paring was perfectly chosen. The bouillabaisse was my favourite along with the calamari. The quality of the food met my high expectations. .
Highly recommend this restaurant.

Beautiful inside & terrace. English if preferred. Great cocktail & wine list. All staff helpful - both the younger ones (well trained) & more experienced. But the food is the obvious highlight - passionate preparation, local ingredients, understated so not such overwhelming flavor you do t taste the great fish. My husband & I share the whole fish & 2 apps (phenomenal gazpacho & special octopus). Probably most unique higher end dining in downtown Magog (but the Parcelles experience on Ausitin is an absolute must too!). Merci!
A perfect place for a low-key casual celebration or a date night. Our server started by telling us a bit about the restaurant & its seasonal dishes, & that helped us choose. The ceviche-like scallops with strawberries & coulis were the taste explosion, no less; one of my best gastronomic experiences, & I've had plenty on both sides of the pond. For the main course, we had a seabass with salsa & rice pilaf to share. Nothing fancy on the outside; just made to perfection, with all taste hues balanced just right. The dinner started with the restaurant's compliments, grilled slices of focaccia with the absolutely delightful & airy potato mousse with caramelized onions. The local tap lager was well-chosen; tasted almost like light white wine. The Madeira spritz was well-balanced & very refreshing on a hot summer evening.
The restaurant is on rue Principale, but the entrance to it may be hard to notice (it's downstairs from the street level), so it's literally a Magog's hidden gem.
Excellent service & food ! Very comfy & friendly. The food was delicious, as well as the wine. We took the menu degustation & it was delicious with the wine accord.
Splendid dinner & atmosphere. Wife & I has the best day night here. Super cozy & the food was out of this world! Great wine selection too! Will be coming back.
It was a weekday so quieter. We had a choice of tables in the back terrace. It's covered so no worries for mosquitoes. Waitress is so knowledgeable on the menu & wines. She is so professional & polite. Amuse-bouche & focaccia bread were the included starters. We got a salad & oysters, followed by grilled sardines. I had the first dish on the main menu, Cardeira I believe which looks to me like a seafood bouillabaisse. He had a steak. We both enjoyed our mains very much. Desserts we had were beignet & a nata. Delicious!
Absolutely terrific meal. The service was exceptional. & great wine choices!
What a gem! Portuguese-inspired fine dining in a cozy, relaxed environment. We have been multiple times & we have enjoyed every single bite we've eaten. Staff is super friendly & very knowledgeable about their well-curated wine selection. This time, we did the tasting menu & loved it! The kitchen was super accommodating of allergies too!
This place is nice but not worth the price. I've been to multi-course, gastronomy dinners before & this one was not at the level of what they were charging. We took the'discovery menu'. The portions were too small, & we didn't leave full. It was, about 200$ for two people after tax & tip, without any wine!! Not worth it. If you go, I would just take a regular meal. The flavours were good.
