Visited on a busy Saturday at 11 AM & was quoted a 1.5-hour wait ,got the call back in just under an hour. Worth it? Absolutely.

The Grand Slam is a bold, satisfying plate: crispy Nashville fried chicken that's perfectly spiced, a fiery house sauce that brings serious heat, & maple syrup that balances everything with a sweet finish. The syrniki were fluffy & light, the runny eggs added richness, & the beef bacon brought that salty crunch to tie it all together. Every bite was layered & indulgent.View more

Arthur's Nosh Bar is a restaurant on Notre-Dame St. W. in St. Henri. Owners Alex Cohen & Raegan Steinberg, a married couple, worked at Joe Beef before opening Arthurs.

The restaurant serves Jewish classics with a twist. I've been wanting to go here since last year for brunch, but I never got the chance.

I decided to try it because I've never been to a Jewish inspired restaurant before, & the ratings seemed good.

I walked in the heat & sun to the middle of a very odd place on a weekday afternoon to get to here. I was surprised it was packed & had a waitlist.

I ordered:
LATKE SMORGASBORD
SOFT SCRAMBLED EGGS, LATKE, SALMON GRAVLAX, ISRAELI SALAD, PRESSED CHALLAH ROLL

I quite liked it, especially the pressed challah roll. It's nice that it's something sweet, served with other savoury items. The latke was good too. Out of the menu items, this one is popular alongside with the pancakes (but I ordered Katie smorgasbord because it seemed more unique to me).View more

This place gets brunch. Everything we tried was packed with flavour & personality. The McArthur sandwich? Savoury, messy, & damn satisfying with turkey, egg, & pickles on a sesame bagel. The classic plate with scrambled eggs, challah, latke, & smoked salmon looked fancy & felt comforting.

Waffles with beef bacon , salami & egg hit that sweet-salty-crunchy spot, & the shakshuka was warm, not too spicy, & perfect for scooping with pita. Portions are generous, the vibe is lively, & even if there's a wait-it's worth it.View more

We tried Arthur Nosh Bar 2 months ago & it was amazing, we sat at the terrasse & ordered these.. (See pics below) .. all the food are very tasty!! Esp the soft scrambled egg yum! Super umami!! With the Salami & Challah Roll!! Best combo!! . Cottage cheese pancakes really good as well, I just find it a bit overpriced? But really good for sharing!!

Will come back!! 🙂🙂🙂View more

I've been to this place many times over the years. The food has always been great, never disappoints. Today we went for the first time as a family. We brought our 6 month old + our dog & sat in the patio. The entire staff was so sweet to us! From offering water for our dog to making extra cooked scrambled eggs for our baby… was a lovely experience!View more

This is one of the best breakfast/brunch spots I've been. The breakfast sandwich was delicious, especially with the scrambled eggs & challah roll it comes with. The Syrniki was also incredible. They were super fluffy & paired so well with the maple syrup.View more

We came here on a Sunday morning. We had to wait an hour for a table, but the hostess let us know. The best thing we had was the pancakes. If you are torn between pancakes & anything else, go with the pancakes. Delicious & filling. The deluxe hot chocolate is of the best we have ever tried. Definitely worth ordering. The service was excellent considering how busy it was. The McArthur chicken sandwich is ok. It hits the spot but you aren't going here for this. The fries with vinegar are mostly potato trimmings, not so much actually French fries. You know when you have fries & there little pieces at the end- it is a bowl of that. The latkes were ok. Again, you are not coming for this. The coffee was not good. Unfortunately my glass had that egg smell/taste that often happens at breakfast places. Even the replacement glass was the same. Because of the size of the place & the constant opening of the door, it was freezing & we had to keep our coats on to eat. Definitely worth coming & waiting an hour for the pancakes & hot chocolate.View more

The first time I ate at Arthurs Nosh Bar & ordered the Moroccan Toast - it was absolutely delicious: the crispy chickpeas, the amazing eggplant, the perfect poached eggs, the tahini, & all the other ingredients - a mouthwatering & truly superb culinary experience. The second time - a little underwhelming although a chef can have an off day. Today, I was hoping for that first time tasty sensation & while our food arrived within 10 minutes of ordering (we were quite surprised), sadly, the Moroccan Toast of yesteryear - well, disappointing - no crunchy spiced chickpeas. In fact, the entire dish was bland - maybe the cilantro was missing. I am certain that this was just due to the fact that the restaurant was very busy & perhaps ingredients ran out. I think it's time to try something else.View more

An absolute gem of a place to enjoy your brunch!! The food is delicious, I tried the Latke Smorgasbord & the famous Syrniki. The smorgasbord was a perfect blend of Jewish cuisine with eggs, salmon & the challah bread! Loved the famous syrniki pancake for its fluffy & flavourful texture. I'll be revisiting for sure!View more

When I was planning my Montreal trip, Arthur's had to be on the itinerary, no question. Fortunately, we were among the first guests to line up & were seated promptly. The vibe was nice & the staff were quite friendly. Now, the food. Damn it, everything was delicious. My girlfriend devoured those pancakes, the syrniki. They tasted divine. I had the latke smorgasbord & it had the perfect ratio of latke, smoked salmon, challah, eggs, & salad. 10/10 dish. We also ordered the beef bacon & the grilled salami, DELICIOUS! They were also very kind, they accidentally gave us two pickles when we asked for 1 & didn't charge us for the additional one. Very thoughtful. Food did take a bit of time to come out, but it's understandable since it was a full house. I urge everyone reading this to go to Arthur's, nothing else compares.View more

An extremely busy restaurant with long lineups but trust me, the wait is so worth it! We started with coffee & cranberry juice iced tea & moved into the best breakfast- Grand slam & Scrambled Eggs ❤️ Each bite was exquisitely delicious & for dessert we had the Nutella babka ❤️ Cannot wait to come back, wait in the lineup & try other items on the menu ☺️View more

The staff was super nice & attentive. While the food was good, it was not what I expected hearing about this place for years. The avocado toast was good, egg was cooked perfectly. The Challah with butter & honey was cut too thick & didn't have enough honey, only tasted of grease butter, I was provided more honey upon request. The famous cottage cheese pancakes: maybe it was just a bad batch but they were doughy & raw towards the middle. The flavour had potential but overshadowed by the underdone inside. Overall it was an ok experience but not worth the hours long wait that some people sat there for.View more

The most amazing pancakes I've ever had. The wild berries were totally with the extra charge. Amazing. Now the breakfast sandwich? Maybe one of the worst things I've ever eaten at breakfast. At first I thought maybe this was the way they did their eggs but looking at other pictures & comparing that to what I got, it's clear that I got barely cooked eggs. Something seemed off when I got the sandwich, but didn't want to say anything if that's the way the eggs on the sandwich usually come. But now seeing others pictures, it was not. It was horrible. But I cant say enough how delicious the pancakes were. To Arthurs Ownership: Regardless of why I didnt say anything, the fact is that barely cooked eggs came out. I wasnt even sure eggs came with the sandwich based on how it looked & had to check the menu again to make sure I wasnt seeing things. I think I didnt say anything because the pancakes were that fantastic. But after seeing the pics of what the sandwich usually looks like, I should have.View more

Massively hyped, & massively underdelivered. Heard a lot of good things, so gave it a go, & my, was this a disappointment. I don't care how your brunch place operates, but you NEVER charge $4.75 for coffee, that's obscene. It's regular, filter coffee, nearly 5$ is an outrage. Ordered the smorgasbord, so let's go around the plate: Gravlax: Pretty good, nice & salty, tender, quite good. Saying the meal comes with caviar & when giving a teaspoon of it is odd though, make it a garnish, but don't advertise it. Best part o the plated. Pressed Chalalh roll: Not sure how it was pressed, fried in a bit of butter, good, but a basic challah roll. Latke: Way too think & as a result the inside was super dry. Would have MUCH preferred the same amount of potato as two thinner latkes that would have had greated consistency. The outside was nice & crispy, but this was a potato puck. Mentioning the sour cream & the apple sauce was a selling point. Providing 0.5-1 tsp of each is stupid, make it an unnamed granish. Israeli salad: This is NOT an Israeli salad. It is cucumber, white onion & dill. A true Israeli salad rarely has dill, has olive oil, salt, pepper, & especially TOMATO. That's so key. Also, usually scallions instead of white onion. Call it a side salad, call it a cucumber salad, but this is NOT an Israeli salad. Scrambled eggs were good. No complaints there. Luckily, I had some of my sister's cottage cheese pancakes & those were quite tasty. Would have those again if I ever had to go back. Two mains, 2 coffee's, tax & tip, $62. Would be okay with that price if the quality was there, but the quality was not there. Trendy should also have an element of good. This was sub-par.View more

The place is very nice & the host was very welcoming. The food is good (not extraordinary but more than average). I ordered the scarmbled eggs with trout gravlax. The gravlax was delicious, the eggs were dry & lacked seasoning, the latke was unedible because it was so soggy (tasted like frying oil that has been used & reused over 2 weeks) & the bread was soaking with butter. It was definitely on the overpriced side. What we did NOT APPRECIATE the most is when the waitress came to ask us to leave "because they have a line" 5 minutes after we paid the bill! Honestly of all the places this is the first time this happens to me. I don't know what kind of restaurant protocol that is but we found it VERY insulting. Never returning to that place again.
