This charming restaurant has been a Plateau mainstay since 2011, specializing in arepas, empanadas, & all things Venezuelan. 🇻🇪
The brunch is a delightful addition! The dishes were not only gluten-free but also bursting with authentic flavors.
We started with an order of empanadas; each one was perfectly crafted & filled with delicious ingredients, offering a satisfying crunch with every bite.
We followed that with the Plato Criollo, a giant plate of Perico eggs, fresh avocado, fried plantains, stewed beans, arepas, Andean cheese, & chicharrón (pork belly). All of this was not only delicious but extremely filling. We couldn't finish half of it 😅-the portion was very generous.
A big thank you to the team for their warm hospitality during brunch; it was evident that they take pride in their food & service. ☀?
Amazing experience! Food was delicious! Our server was more than helpful, even guiding us on how to make the breads themselves. I cannot say enough good things about it! Gluten free to top it off & our sever helped me choose options that didn't have dairy. My teenager announced it was one of his two favourite restaurants... High praise! Would definitely recommend.
Truly a one of a kind place in Montreal. They have a very unique menu all gluten free. The food is amazing & great portion sizes. I highly recommend to go for lunch.
100% gluten free restaurant with gf beer, ciders, sangria, & the most amazing food I have had in a long time, gf or otherwise. Also literally the best priced restaurant meal I've had in forever gf or otherwise. Highly recommend! We will definitely be back!

Been close to a decade since I first wrote a 5 star review on TripAdvisor upon our first visit & this time I wanted to share it on Google. We visit this place annually (other than lockdown year) from out of town. A proper gluten free restaurant. Over these years since being introduced to Areparas we've tried other places to compare, in different cities & countries. We also noticed over the years some menu changed here, I really miss the Crackling Arepera but the Pork Belly is my replacement & amazing. The point of this updated review a decade later is after over the years trying different Arepara places hands down this place is our benchmark! Each time we return & I take my first bite, I am instantly transported back to the wonderful memories & feelings upon tasting the food here like the first time. I am reminded why they are our benchmark for their ingredient quality, taste, prep, portion, their 2 sauces & why we must continue to return to enjoy such great food at reasonable prices by this Arepera owner & the team. I really want as many people to experience it too!
I found Arepera listed on a couple of gluten-free blog posts & decided to check it out during my Montreal visit. I love so much that everything is gluten-free -- a rare treat to have so many safe choices! & that we had great service that was friendly & attentive. The drawbacks were that the food didn't have nearly as much flavor as my favorite Venezuelan restaurant in my hometown, & the restaurant didn't feel very clean - things like the glass front doors were covered in greasy hand prints & the bathrooms were on the gross side. We arrived for an early lunch when they weren't busy yet. The place filled up while we were there, so it was obviously a popular place.

Delicious, crispy & tender arepas. Perfectly fried plantains. Added plus of gluten free empanadas that were highly delicious. Ooh & the cocktails & house-made juices were super yummy. Highly highly recommend for lovers of arepas & anyone avoiding gluten!
This place is an absolute delight! The music & musical decor are fun & exciting! The empanadas are delicious & served with both avocado & hot sauces! A delicious & delectable appetizer. I had the pulled pork arepa! It was wonderful with so many different flavors & textures! Everything is gluten free! You will be in heaven if you have celiac disease!
Quite possibly your best option if you see gluten free! Gluten free everything offered here. & it is mostly naturally gluten free, not gluten free substitutes. I suggest getting the plate.
We love Arepas, & it's helpful they're a naturally gluten free dish. This restaurant is perfect because the entire kitchen is 100% gluten free. We enjoyed the empanada trio first, & then we each had an arepa for our entrée. I think our favorite was the one with chicken, beans, & plantains. Both the green & red sauces were delicious. No notes. A great place for a delicious gluten free meal.
It was delicious, affordable great service & vibrant atmosphere. The food was fresh & full of flavour, the sauces are especially delicious. Such a treat to eat somewhere 100% gluten free!!! This one is getting added to my list of Montreal fans.
