Antipode functions as a multifaceted culinary destination blending café culture with the artisanal precision of small plates. The kitchen emphasizes high-quality ingredients sourced for their flavor profile and structural integrity in both hot and cold preparations. A distinct focus on craft beverage production balances the food menu, which centers on Mediterranean-influenced shared plates and complex caffeinated brews. The environment utilizes a deliberate architectural layout to prioritize functional flow while maintaining a minimalist aesthetic throughout the space. Guests encounter a focused menu where simple, raw components undergo transformation into refined portions designed for individual or group consumption. The establishment maintains a consistent operational standard that prioritizes texture and seasoning across every item offered on the permanent menu.
Antipode is widely regarded as a standout destination in Montreal for its visually stunning brunch plates and highly aesthetic specialty lattes, which are frequently described as delicious and flavorful. While many guests praise the unique, creative menu and the cozy, artistic atmosphere, experiences regarding service and value can be inconsistent. The restaurant is consistently busy, often resulting in long queues and occasional wait times for both tables and food. Although some patrons consider the pricing to be on the higher side or feel that aesthetics sometimes take precedence over culinary execution, many others find the generous portions and high-quality ingredients justify the visit, making it a popular, must-try spot for those seeking a memorable brunch experience.
The positive sides were drinks & service. Their themed lattes are spot on. Not too sweet & still can taste coffee itself. Service was welcoming & took care of my partner's allergy request.
However, once we received our food, our enthusiasm has sunk. I ordered croque tartiflette & honestly I don't understand how anyone can enjoy 2 pieces of bread sprinkled by some bacon & covered by some cheddar while paying over 30$ for it including tax & tips. I guess some people do. My fault to order that. Arrived cold.
My partner ordered truffle & champignons Benedict. Came stone cold. The green sause tasted straight up as a fish. There was no even a hint to taste any truffle since that fish taste overshadows anything on the plate.
In conclusion, will probably come back to get a take out for a coffee. In terms of food, it was the worst brunch I've tried so fa
I appreciate that the menu diverges from standard brunch offerings & demonstrates a willingness to experiment beyond familiar conventions.
The tiramisu latte was enjoyable overall; however, the espresso notes lacked sufficient intensity to fully anchor the beverage. More generally, some dishes would benefit from greater balance in flavor profiles. The yuzu pain doré, while initially appealing, became overly sweet after several bites, evoking the sensory fatigue associated with excessive sugar. In contrast, the beurre noisette with merguez skewed slightly too acidic for my palate. Service was somewhat slow, though this would not deter me from returning.
We enjoyed brunch here overall. The pain doré yuzu was really good, the sweetness from the bread was balanced out nicely by the sourness from the dipping, but it's too sweet to finish on its own. I loved the merguez though, especially when you mix everything together with the yogurt base, sauces, & poached eggs.
My only real complaints: the coffee tasted more like syrup & milk with a bit coffee flavor than actual latte.. & the tip options start at 17%… just something to keep in mind.

efficace. Je le recommanderais tout de même.
Came here for brunch. I had the pistachio latte which I loved. It looks beautiful & tastes just as good. I also had the mushroom Eggs Bénédictine. It was good but I think I prefer the salmon one. This one was just too mushroomy.
Very tasty brunch! Lots of unique menu items, with all of them looking gorgeous. It's rare to see such the flavor matching pretty plates, & the same goes for their drinks.
Nice brunch, although it is on the more expensive side
